Lemieux's point scoring streak ended last night as he fell victim to a bad
back but Loney scored at 3:33 in overtime to lift the Penguins to a win over
the Rangers. Coffey had 2 goals for the Pens who moved into a tie for 2nd
with the Rangers.

Verbeek's 30th goal of the season with 2:03 left in regulation gave the Whalers
a tie with the Leafs. The Leafs put the puck into the Hartford net 57 seconds
into overtime, but the goal was disallowed because Thibaudeau was standing
in the crease has the puck hit him and went into the net. Marois had 2 goals
for the Leafs; Hull had 2 goals for the Whalers.
