Just installed Redhat 9 with GNOME on my laptop. Got nearly everything
working, except for an occasional X server freeze (used to happen with
earlier versions of RH as well as KDE), but I think I have messed up the
fonts somehow.

Now :

1. If I try to open a postscript file with gv, it fails with the message :

Warning: could not allocate backing pixmap in main window.
X Error of failed request: BadMatch(invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 73 (X_GetImage)
Serial number of failed request: 29
Current serial number in output stream: 29

Error: PostScript interpreter failed in main window.

2. The output of Mathematica is all "wierded" out. I run mathematica from a
remote machine after adding fonts to the fontpath on the local machine.
Earlier, this used to be perfect.

Any idea on what is going on ?

PS : Another question. I cannot seem to open PDF / PS files using plugger in
Mozilla even though /etc/plugger has the corresponding entries, *with*
applications defined, starting from a clean .mozilla in $HOME.
