One of my favorite things is to lie on her back at night while she's grazing in
the pasture, and look up at the stars and listen to the crickets. I ride her
around around, no bridle, saddle, not even a halter..and she's just as happy as
a lark, goes whereever I ask her to. I have pictures of her loose on the beach
too lol...she never went far from us.

I freak people out when I've moved to new barns in the past because I rarely
use a halter (unless there a lot of activity going on) when I take her out of
her stall, or coming back from the pasture. I just put my hand on her poll
(top of her head), she lowers her head and follows right along. People who
dont know us are like Oh my God that's so unsafe...blahblah. lol I'm
like...whateverrrrrr, we trust each other, ya know?

Tammy asked , how the %#$& do you pick a decent watermelon????

It's the RAMSN resident Chef with the answer to your question!!
Rely on its outer color--it should be even, dull, and pale to
dark green--look for a creamy yellow colored area as well. Look
for a symmetrical shape. Do not buy a watermelon with soft
ends. To avoid all this crap altogther, buy *already cut*
watermelons. There is a little man in the back of your store
who does nothing all day but cut open melons, curse, and throw
the underripe ones over his shoulder...;-D

Es said "Wanna know how to pick a good cantalope? ;) "

Reminds me of "When Harry Met Sally"--one of the older ladies
says of love something like, "I knew it--just like you know a
good melon..." Your method is great with watermelon--the skin
can be paler, though--so I'd rely on the cut version. Cantalope--
it smells "cantalopey"! And you can push the stem end in a bit.
If your thumb goes through and come out the oher side, it's too
DAMN RIPE!! (Also, you would have an abnormally long thumb and
should see a Doctor). Then, since you've destroyed *that* melon,
you toss it back in the pile (thus *bruising* all the other
melons) and start over--just like *everyone else* has done!!
Which is another reason why I buy pre-cut melon!! LOL!! 8-P

Oh, isn't that just the best thing ever? At one of the farms where I
rode there was this old, sweet mare named April, who had come from these
really terrible owners. She was just the sweetest horse ever, and I was
pretty much the only person ever willing to ride her because she didn't
jump or do anything special. So my instructor would take April and I
out to the pasture and let me ride her around bareback (and occasionally
without a bridle) in this huge green field. There's something about
riding completely "naturally" that makes it so much better.
