Are there any public, open access h323 gatekeers out on the internet?
I have installed 2 of the Cisco ATA boxes and needed to have a gatekeeper so
that I could dial by phone number so I set up the free gatekeeper from
openh323.org and have them talking to each other just fine now.
What I would like to find is a public gatekeeper that has open access and is
free.
Does anyone know if there is such a thing out on the internet and if so what is
the address.
If there is not such a thing is this something that people would think is of
value?
I would love to see VOIP become useful for all the broadband people in the
world but without a central gatekeeper network the usefulness is limited to
small groups of people setting up VOIP hardware to talk to others in their
group.
So if there is a global free gatekeeper network could someone please let me
know where it is located so that I can check it out.
If there is not do people here think this would be a project worth doing?
I have my gatekeeper up and running on a dedicated IP address at
206.150.113.230 and I do not require any passwords for registration. If people
want to use it for testing right now I have no problem with that. Just use
your phone number that you want to register at as your User-ID and it should
work.
I would love to see free calling over the internet become real but I am having
a hard time finding any grass roots projects that are helping to make it real.
Please respond here and in e-mail (mkoz...@mjknet.com)
Thanks much!
