Just purchased some drivers made by a company called Dynavox that look
very similar to Dynaudio's. They have the same cone design and 3" voice
coil. Supposedly the Dynavox's were designed in France and probably
built in Taiwan. They appear to be constructed fairly well, has anyone
heard of this company, or it's designers? the model # is LW6004PMR. I
also need more specs for them other than small parameters. Thanks.

I have seen the Dynavox bass and midbass.mids and they look very attractive if
not downright identical at about half the price of the originals. Having lived
in France and having lots of friends from Taiwan, I feel no reason to buy into
the ethnic snobbery of the "Dane are better" thing the DA pushes in it
half-hearted marketing efforts.

Dynaudio has not really changed their driver designs for non-proprietary
drivers in any appreciable way in well over a decade. It is nice to see
someone knocking them off. The head guy for DA in N.America told me once they
basically ignore the builder markets both pro and amatuer these days any way
[the annoyingly condescending term they use is Hobbyist market] since they
make much more on selling finished speakers. this has always struck me as
tantamount to say we just take the money from the builders but give them no
support because we really dont care about them.

It is hard to find sympathy for them being knocked off under the circumstances.

My guess is that if you contact the supplier who sold you the Dynavox drives
they can supply you with virtually any spec you want beyond the T/S parameters.
You may run into a problem of ignorance on the part of the guy on the phone at
the customer service desk at your supplier, but if you stay after them
diligently but politely, they usually come up with the info.
