I use a ThinkPad 600X in a Selectadock III with a Selectabase 600, running
Windows XP. An Nvidia PCI video card in the dock is attached to an external
monitor, and a NIC connects to the office network.
Recently, a faint buzzing noise has started coming from somewhee in the
dock, although I can't quite figure out where. The noise gets louder when I
move the cursor in a browser window or when I use a scroll bar in
applications. I've got all the physical speaker volume controls and software
volume controls set to the most silent possible setting.
Does anyone have any idea of what may be causing this? Should I simply
replace the dock (they're very cheap on eBay these days)? I don't get the
same noises when I remove the ThinkPad and run it separately from the dock.
Many thanks for any help with this one.
