If my television magazine is to be believed, Dana is on ITV tonight
(10:35 pm) in a programme called 'After They Were Famous'.

Apparently she's given up singing and gone into politics.

Let's hope she does as well as she did on the Eurovision Song Contest!

This programme is on ITV (channel 3).

The Radio Times (God bless it) does not mention Dana International. It does,
however, mention Dana the 1970 Eurovision Song Contest winner who is now an
Irish member of the European Parliament.

More than this I cannot say?

Definitely. First tranny in the Knesset? Dana for PM? She'd
certainly be an improvement over their current leadership....

Apart that we'd clarified that the Dana on telly turned out to be a
different Dana after all, a thing that struck me with Dana International is
that she had been exploited by the Music industry who marketed her as a
drag-queen. Her video clips presented her as a Gay Drag Diva, not a woman.
All that Glitter Bullshit and the Vogue-Frames, terrible and in the
interviews she even contributed to this image, prolly because she was
looking for the GBL backup, but this backup tuned into a back-fire because
she even confirmed the assigned image, prolly out of foolishness and
inexperience, mixed with the fatal ts notion of enjoying the spot light at
all cost. And did she pay dearly.....

After the Media's butcher fest, what's left now? Is she rich? No. Most of
the records where sold as pirate copies on the Arab market, besides, even if
an artist sells well on the debut album nothing remains as the Com want
_their_ return of investment, usually the artist might start earning money
if the second album is a _hit_, but then, we are talking Sony here.... Is
she respected? No. And how anyway, as she was nothing but a pile of meat
from start, dumped in front of the masses who could engage in morbid
fascinations without any restraint, digging in their teeth with a force
which left no mercy, pulverizing even the skeleton. Is she happy? I
seriously doubt it. Anywhere she goes on the planet, she will be perceived
as a beautiful, dickless dragqueen and who want's to employ _that_ after the
Sony allowances run out? Well I'm sure there is some kitschy hinterhof gay
club in Jaffa with a 2m x 2m female impersonator stage and Christmas like
decoration who is glad to have her and a grateful audience of 25 who adore
_their_ icon, lovably calling her "she", the same way they refer to
themselves as "she" sometimes...... attached with the irony which indicates
that the addressed individual has the legs in the air on occasion... I wont
even begin on the situation of ever finding a partner....

What mistakes caused the failure of the artist Dana?

1. She didn't have a media advisor / public relations manager with insights
in dynamics, and if she did, s/he was a peace of crap or at least a
maliciously ignorant idiot.

2. (and because of Nr. 1) She presented (let the Organizers/Marketing Team
present her) as a Gay Diva with frilly outfits and too much make up. She
chose the "here I am scream in your face" flashy route, instead of the
secretive, silently powerful _cult_ route. She wanted attention, and got
dumped into the Coliseum as Lion food, section "oddities". Anything,
ANYTHING would have been better than the Fag Diva approach. Whoever
designed her videos and stage acts was obsessed by trying to frame her as a
drag queen and it must be counted against her that she went along with it,
but I guess her "friends" needed to push "_their_" icon. Even if she had not
chosen for the Fiona Apple cult route, a very plain natural Alanis
Morrisette approach would have made people stop and think what to do with
their projections. Burn feather boa, burn, welcome Jeans.....

3. The interviews. Do you know the feeling of wanting to jump into the teve
to bitch slap someone for being so stupid? The couple I saw made me rip out
hair, I swear. Why in the world that babble for tolerance for gay and
lesbian people? Why publicly connecting herself with them? Is she gay? Is
she lesbian? Did she feel in debt to the community who supported her
beginnings? I say, fuck the GBLt'ers, after all, what have they done for us
lately besides slapping another color on _their_ rainbow, adding "gender
variant Fags and Dikes" and weekend dressers. Why making 7% - 10% of the
population like you if 90/93% can pay your bills so much better, I mean she
_was_ in the Music BUSINESS and not some community activist. There was one
interview in Dutch television which particularly annoyed me as the producer
placed her besides a "proud" _mother_, so the host and the fat breeder (who
exploited her own children so she could kick some tranny ass) could walk all
over her with questions like if it doesn't bother her that she wont have
children and brave, stupid little Dana smiling a silly smile which could
not even attempt to hide the vacuumed ego. Contracts, Darling, public
trannies need contracts which list the frame, setting, questions asked,
potential other guests _in detail_, so you can go through, step by step,
make some markings, pick up the phone, ask for the producer so you can tell
him politely to go fuck himself. Media is one of the hardest and coldest,
stonecoldest businesses and boy do they love to slit someone open. You deal
with the Media, you get _prepared_ or eaten. At least if you're doing
interviews. You think Putin goes on Hardtalk without an input of the list of
the questions? Ha! Get real. But no, Dana had to stumble into the studios
with her legs wide open. I don't think there is anything wrong with a bit of
kinky submissive sex, but not on national television framed within
"rationality". Sheesh...

4. Why Sony? I mean Sony of all record coms.... I know, all the biggies out
there posses the creative insight of a butcher, but Sony is particularly
bad. Sony owns their artists, and signing with Sony is signing with artistic
death, choked by mainstream pling plong if your desperate. Ok, once you
already got a name and they want you, fine, but as start up? Wood in the
fire..... Poof. But for Dana it would have been much better to sign with an
Indi label, start smaller, start slower, start smarter as you have more
control.
_______

"Ok, yes, but is she dead?"

Oh yeah, the Sony GBL.....t fagdrag diva with the vogue videos is definitely
dead, thank goodness. Oh you mean as an artist entirely? Nah. _The whole
planet_ knows her, so she could pull a Phoenix number real easy, it would
just take a non-gay (male) producer whose brain is not coked out which could
make that stunt happen. But then, there are the 25.000 Sony lawyers with
their dicks out..... Besides, her contract is for life and the next 50
reincarnations till the year 4545 or so....., they would have to have mercy
with her and just drop her, and pay off the loss from their postage cashbox.
Then she could sign with an Indi label and start making some creative stuff
and if it's good shit, maybe MTV would play her on Alternative Nation....
boom. I mean Mr. Marilyn Manson and Beck get played at 5 pm, so yes, she
_could_ still make it. And personally, I hope she gets the drift, because I
don't want to visit her in "Schlomo's hideout" in Jaffa, I want to see her
filling halls, just like THE TURNER did after her crash with Ike.

Net-culture? Hmmm!!! Sounds like a contradiction in terms dear 8-) Wot do
they talk about - Usenet?

Rather like Radio Ams discussing the equipment which they are using to
discuss with; always found that one rather strange 8-) Must have been easy
meat to a poly-lingual predator such as yourself then, Claudia 8-)

LOL. True. But that hasn't saved Madonna from becoming a Multi
Millionaire... if she wasn't so ambitious and hadn't met the right people,
she would have never made it out of the rubber corner in Studio 54.... and
remained a virgin forever <cough>.

Yes, after they have installed a long stick on their seat before logging
on...
But seriously, that's basically a netcop group which discusses appropriate
behavior on Usenet, and they plonk you if you do not use your real fore -
and surname. I kid you not. It's linear Germans in raw essence.... a truly
scary place. But so is the entire de. hierarchy. I came to know of the
existence of that group after someone on a de.cat.NG made a f'up to
de.newusers.questions because I had a spamtrap. [!] After sending him an
email with a text he will never forget <cough> I thought to myself, oh well,
why not go and pest some assholes..

LOL. They are still dizzy from the shock, oh my..what have I done?

Mwuahahah, I can't believe you actually went there, how embarrassing. (Lucky
me Babel crashes on my usage of the German language) No, you are supreme,
not alpha;-)

Wankers giving real net.cops(1) a bad name :(

1) The guys struggling valiantly to keep usenet spam-free and usable.
