The answer was that Tk was not thread safe. I was under the impression that fork(
) didn't work at all on Windows (with the possible exception of a cygwin install).

Regards, -sm I suggest you download Cygwin with all bits and pieces... you can
get gcc and perl (already compiled) for it and then start compiling your own ...
