Well, then they started mass-marketing Crystal Pepsi, and it tasted like
Sprite or 7-Up (it began as "natural cola" and ended up as just another
lemon/lime soda!), and I was the most disappointed person alive.
::sigh::
Anyone else miss Pepsi Light? At least you can still buy "Tab."

That's strange. The Los Angeles test market version of Crystal Pepsi
(circa 1992-1993) tasted exactly like regular Pepsi, but just didn't have
the caramel coloring. I loved the stuff and even got a Crystal Pepsi
refrigerator magnet for my efforts.
Why do they need the coloring anyway? (Yes, I remember the SNL crystal
gravy spoof).

I have no memories of Pepsi Light, nor of the citrus incarnation of
Crystal Pepsi. After the demise of Crystal Pepsi, I went from Diet Coke
to canned lemonades and juices to generic colas and eventually back to
regular Pepsi.

Pepsi Free!

I think anyone who wasn't old enough to remember Pepsi Free wouldn't know
what the heck Marty McFly was talking about in Back To The Future in Lou's
Diner. Notice that there is a can of Diet Pepsi Free next to his alarm
clock.
When did diet fountain drinks go to 100% NutraSweet? I used to remember
that cans and bottles were first to get 100% NutraSweet but it took almost
forever for fountain versions to go to 100%.

No, no, Pepsi Free was Caffeine-free, diet Pepsi. Pepsi Light was diet
Pepsi (with saccharin!) with lemon-flavour.

Pepsi Light was the funky stuff- I just remember the 6-pack bottles. The 6-pack
container was baby blue with very 70's like lettering, with a little lemon on it.
And, yes, it was Pepsi Light that I loved as a 5-year old!
