hi !

coz i do not managed to get a program that gives me the direct
possibility
to convert my older vivo files to avi, i thought about a workaround.
and it works !

(firts of all i've made an image of my system partition with 'Norton
Ghost', but u don't HAVE to do that)

1. install a vivo-player (f.e. 'Vivo PowerPlayer' or 'VivTV')
2. install a 'screen-animation-capture-util' (z.b. Techsmith 'SnagIt')
3. if u also wanna capture the sound of the video, u need to install
an app like 'Virtual Audio Cable'

furthermore:

maybe u should check if ur desired video definitely HAS sound. if NOT
u don't hav to do the following 'Virtual Audio Cable' shit.

if u want to get the sound, install the 'vac' and choose 'Virtual
Audio Cable Out 1' as standard output in window sytem / multimedia
options.

start the 'SnagIt' and configure. u will notice that some of the
options are under menu 'In' and other under menu 'Out' ... but
anyways.

choose 'Virtual Audio Cable In 1' as input source for the sound.

start the vivo-player and switch to stop or pause mode. now prepare
the 'SnagIt' to record and choose the right area of the screen. click
on the
record button of the 'SnagIt' and re-start playback in the vivo player
app.

u should avoid to move the 'mouse cursor' inside the 'recording area'
if
'mouse movements' are recorded too ( its an option of the 'SnagIt' )

do not forget to switch back to the 'real' soundcard output ( in
windows sytem / multimedia options) if the 'capturing' has finished.

the resulting avi file may be very large. u can use 'VirtualDub' and
'DivX' codec to recode the avi file. then it should be smaller.

as seen above i don't want to hav the vivo player installed on my
system, so i had taken a ghost image right before the whole procedure,
and after converting
i was able to get back to 'windows without the vivo player and virtual
audio cable'.

hav fun ...
