Judge for yourself. From a C5 Website:

---------------------------------
Night Fever - 21.00 - 21.50/23.50 - 00.05

There's double trouble for your eardrums on New
Year's Eve as 5's resident king of karaoke and
prince of pub-singing, known to the masses as
Suggs comperes not just the one helping of musical
mayhem, but two.

First up is Night Fever in the classic format
which has made it a shrieking success and sent
gyrations across the nation.

Assuming her rightful position as captain of the
girl's is the Beeb's very own 'boffin babe'. She's
a lady who knows her nuclear fission from her
microchips and dwarfs the really rather tall Peter
Snow with her towering intellect, Tomorrow's World
presenter Phillipa Forrester. Accompanying her are
'bare babe' Gail Porter, who recently posed for a
well-known mens magazine, and 'lady wants a baby
babe' Gaynor Faye who plays Cornoation Street's
Judy Mallett. Completing the girl's team are This
Morning reporter and presenter of the saucy dating
game God's Gift, Claudia Winkelman AKA 'bawdy
babe', and Geberation Game glamourpuss Francine
Lewis.

In charge of the blokes in this balladic battle of
the sexes is the stud of the Square (in his
dreams) Shaun Williamson who plays Eastender Barry
Evans. Joining him, and hoping not to look like a
'smeghead' is Red Dwarf star Craig Charles who, by
his own admission, is definately not a Fine Young
Cannibal and if you don't believe us, then just
hear him sing. Then there's Bread star Jonathan
Morrisand, keeping the boys in order and not
taking any nonsense, is England rugby star Victor
Ubogu.

Proper music is provided by the champion of
cheese, Lenny Beige. A man with the kind of style
that makes Liberace seem understated and George
Hamilton look a little on the pale side. Plus,
Utter Madness, the tribute band sure to make you
want to put on your Baggy Trousers, take One Step
Beyond and turn the Night Fever studios into a
House of Fun.

For the last time this year, the delectable Sara
Cawood and the charming William Mellor will pluck
aspiring singing stars from the baying lunatics
who make up our studio audience, with the aim of
whittling the hopefulls down to one lucky winner
who will be in Hogmanay heaven when they get the
chance to sing their heart out in Suggs' own power
shower!

If that weren't enough, Night Fever retrns for a
special show to see out 1998 and wish you all a
'Happy Nude Year;.

In a saucy late night special, you can expect to
see, amoungst other visual delights, shapely Shaun
Williamson dressed as the caped crusader, Suggs
wowing the girls with his light sabre in his guise
as Hans Solo, and an audience made up entirely of
cowboys, cabemen and those cheeky young ladies
from the St Trinians School for Girls.

The boys and girls from both teams are back for
more melodic meanderings and we can guarentee that
the scoring has never been so sensational, with a
guy and a gal doing a full-monty-style strip.
As the points build up, their clothes come off.

Finally as we approach the midnight hour, Night
Fever celebrates by counting down the all time top
five karaoke choices as voted for by our studio
audience.
---------------

Talk about breathless. What's the betting It'll
actually be pretty dull then?

Or that C5 don't know their anal cavity from the thing that makes the
lower part of their arm capable of movement independant to the upper part,
and that isn't the format of the second show, but bits of the first?

Not half. Not to mention that it started five
minutes early. There's more than a little of
Michael the Mouse about C5 at times. And it was
hardly 'The Last Days of Sodom and Gomorrah' was
it?

Nice outfit though Twigs.

And so may I wish a Happy New Year to Philippa
fans the world over, and of course, to the dear
lady herself.

'I will survive'? Only a fool would bet against
it.

No maatter to me, I only saw what I did by accident, thought it started at
9.55

Not really, but then, what did you expect? It is after all one day when
many young children are allowed to stay up far later than normal (I
certainly used to see the New Year from about age 5/6, assuming I stayed
awake ;-)

'twas nice, what I saw of it.

And to you too.
