Hi

I have a problem with my copy of AutoRoute Express GB 2000.
I have looked through the MS support site and have no idea who to write to,
so I am trying this newsgroup on the off chance you will either be able to
help or at least point me in the right direction.
I have been using the product now for a couple of months and have benefited
greatly, until now.
I insert my CD into the drive and double click the AutoRoute icon in my
start menu.
All I get then is a message saying " This program can no longer run. Click
OK to acknowledge this message and then restart the program ". When I try to
restart I get the same message.
I have unloaded at items that start automatically including any virus
software. I have uninstalled AutoRoute and re-installed it with no success.
Anybody got any clues ?

Thankyou very much

I posted a request about AR 2000 GB months ago with a similar problem and
unfortunately got no replies.
My problems happened while trying to install the program - some machines
took it - others didn't. Like you I disabled all running programs and virus
software. I got 3 messages, which were (in order):-
1) Failed to initialise - terminating.
2) This program will no longer run and will be shut down
3) Automap 7 has performed an illegal operation and will be shutdown.

The only solution I found was to FDISK and format the drive and start again!
Pretty drastic, but it worked.

I'm having this very same problem with Expedia
Streets 98. It worked fine for a while and then
I suddenly got this message. Thought maybe the
cd was damaged or something so I installed on
another PC and everything was fine. Microsoft's
Knowledge Base is no help at all with this.
Anything anyone has to offer would be greatly
appreciated.

Ok, after a little research I found an answer. Uninstall the program
through the normal means of Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
When you get that done search your hard drive for a file called
itss.dll and rename it. You should find it in the windows/system
folder. I renamed mine to itss.old. After the file is renamed install
the program again and all should be well. This worked great for me and
the program runs as well as it ever did. Hope you have the same luck.
