Most sites cannot provide these kinds of direct news feeds cuz AP or UPI
would be on them faster than business on the net.

handle 2-color GIFs where one of the colors is transparent.
For example, a black-on-transparent icon is displayed as black-on-white.
My XMosaic client does properly display 2-color transparent icons.
I have "solved" this by editing the icon to have at least 3 colors
(even one pixel at a 3rd color is enough). This seems to fix it.
