On the Dr. Octagon album, theres this little intro where Keith introduces
himself as the Doctor and goes on about how he can relocate your saliva
glands and rebuild your rectum etc. and theres this classical string loop
behind him. Now I know I've heard it before, and I know who the composer is
and know what piece it is but can't remember it if my life depended on it.
Please help me...

This is a funny coincidence. I was just going to post a loop of this that
I had made, but then I saw you guys talking about this, so I figured this
would be the perfect place to post this.
In my Multimedia class in school I've been working on a hip-hop website
that will feature, among other things, downloadable beat loops. Anyway,
Canon in D is my all-time favorite classical piece, so when I first heard
"I Got To Tell You," my jaw dropped (I appreciate creative sampling). So I
decided to make a loop of it on my computer, and it came out PERFECT! None
of the other beats I tried came out perfect, even after trying for a long
time. But this one I got on my first time. If it doesn't loop perfectly,
it's your software, not the file.

Enjoy!

Just to add this in.....the quick loop after I"M DESTRUCTIVE... is a very
sweet sample from ALICE COLTRANE"S cover of her late husbands record A
LOVE SUPREME. I'm not sure the name of the album its on but it was
recorded in 1970..

dan

P.S.. the "I've got to tell ya" is James Brown

Unfortunately that loop isn't on the re-issue of Dr. Octagon's album.
That loop is sweet though.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that sample was from Vivaldi's "Four
Seasons." Pieces of Four Seasons have been used in several TV and radio
ads over the past few years, and I think that's why they chose to use it
on that skit (which was supposed to be an ad for Dr. Octagon).
The vocal bit was saying "I Got To Tell You," which is incidentally the
name of the skit.
