Seems a confused thesis on the face of it, as if "ideologies and interests"
were altogether different from "cultures". Seems a somewhat bogus distinction.
And besides, Western Civ is deeply informed by Arab and Persian sources, with
the Renaissance owing a lot to recovery of submerged Greek heritage, rescued
thanks to Arab scholars not shut down by Gothic invaders and their oppressive
practice of Judeo-Christian imperialism. Christianity was a big part of the
problem in some ways (remains so to this day -- through no fault of JC's).

Praise Allah for Arabs. May Islamic civilizations live long and prosper
(\\// = Spock V-symbol).
