Interesting post re Cokeheads Illegal Army. They say everyone
and their uncle was a CIA subcontractor of some kind around
Mena, AK during the high tide of Central American freedom fighting.
So easy to use the national security blanket as a cover -- especially
if you're in a gang that's ethnic whitey (that's why it's called
the White House ain't it?) -- kids in the 'hood, other side of
the tracks, get time in the slammer (or a bullet).

The privileged with fancy health insurance also get uppers and
downers prescribed and HMO subsidized (or get celebrity talk show
slots to share touching sob stories of recuperation in some fancy
facility), while those having more to be really deeply depressed
about in this life get to live on the margins and make deals with
the CIA devil (as druggies, or maybe as guinea pigs for mind
control experiments) -- what a system!

Ralph, I think you're bogus. I do not believe for one minute you sat there
watching on t.v. the Iran hostages, and were not demanding that something be
done.

Please also remember, the individuals involved with the "scandal" did have
small fry civilian supporters in their defense.

For years now, the public has lied to itself that it was "wrong," as it sat
demanding action, those like you refusing to admit in a Fad O' The Times it was
right, and the small fry supporters bouncing back and forth questioning their
own choices.

It was the right thing to do at the time, and at the time action matched the
will of the people for action, but not the will of Congress.

America was just as much in league with the Iran-Contra Affair as the C.I.A.
was, but it was fun to be horrified at the exposure of those means to take
action.

America wished for action and got it. As the old saying goes, "Be careful what
you wish for you just might get it."
