I recommend a copy of CIABASE as a fine holiday gift for
anyone with a mind. Same with a CD from Col. Prouty's
website (www.prouty.org).

No one asked me for this endorsement and I do not stand
to financially benefit from making it in any way, shape
or form.

* Note: last I checked, CIABASE was only available on
floppies, not CD. It's designed to be searched on
a hard drive. Especially useful for institutions
that do a lot of analysis (think tanks, e.g. the
Center for Defense Information).

PS: Here's another useful, and very inexpensive gift
idea:

I had lunch with a former deputy inspector general (long
retired) of the CIA in Virginia earlier this month, and
left him a copy of the above ("In the Beginning Was the
Command Line"), my airplane reading.

Ed (long since retired) liked it a lot (the writing is
good, I agree), and found it was being published commerically
-- pointed me to the Amazon site. Non-fiction.
