Best log file analyzer?

We currently use Webtrends but I find it really to be *too* much information at
times.
Anything a little less robust? I know it sounds odd.

I also use Webtrends so I know what you mean - maybe you can explain
to me why it often says I have one visitor that downloaded the same
file 30 times? The ratio of visitors to downloads is hard to believe.
I mean - why would someone download the same thing that many times?
Webtrends is good, but its a lot of stuff to sort thru, isn't it?

That wouldn't show in the logs unless the page is deliberately set not to
be cached though, would it?
Normally, the browser would cache a page you'd looked at once, so only the
first download is recorded.
A 'visitor' is defined by most programs as a bunch of requests from the
same IP address within a defined time period - often half an hour, (unless
you are also using cookies).
Could the visitor be a robot that's got into a loop?
I think we need to know:
Does the Webtrends report include cookie data as well as logs?
Does the site send 'no cache' headers?
Do these multiple-downloading visitors have any other characteristics in
common - browser, file downloaded, originating domain etc?
? could it be a no-cached page being requested by a bunch of people all
behind a firewall or something? So they all come up as one visitor,
because all the requests are from the same IP address?
