You want real performance? Try running Mozilla for
Win 95 under Irix SoftWindows 95.

I happened to have the media for SoftWindows95 version 1
and I thought I should try it with this license but I didn't manage
to get it running. It says it can't get a valid license.

My system is Indigo2 R10K with IRIX6.5.16 and I used the
default installation selection.
The manual says that I should select to install everything
but I didn't install any patches as I assumed they where only
usefull with IRIX6.2.Softwindows dates back to 1996-1997

Can the serial number and authorization codes be extracted
from the above license?
sn=5100 0100 0000 0001 (?),
auth=ECE41259D5BE4700DC27 (?)
Didn't work

I also tried to copy the above informations into license.dat in
the flexlm catalogue and it is 'believed to be good:cannot verify'
Didn't work

Any hints from you who did get it working? Maybe it's simply
not working with IRIX6.5.X at all. I need IRIX6.2?

The "4.000" in the first line looks a lot like a version
number. You could perhaps try changing that to match the
version you have.

As an administrator of ProEngineer at work I have noticed
that the ProE flexlm licenses are backward compatible. I can
for example run ProE20 on my ProE2001 (v23) licenses. I
hoped this license would work the same way.

Thanks anyway. I can try what you suggest.

Otherwise...does anyone know if newer version is
downloadable anywhere ;-)

Umm, you can't run v20 on a 2000i node-locked license.
Maybe flexlm is different ?

I can and do frequently. Of course ptc uses its "own" flexlm.

if the actual media is unavailable, is it on any HotMix cd that we can
use the license for full use?

I used to have HotMix 6 and 9 up to 19 and the only products I found
(on HotMix 6 and 9, IIRC) were SoftWindows 1.25 and SoftPC 3.02 (the
prequel to SoftWindows). Both are useless for this licence.
