RING TIME FOR FRODO
Lyrics (C) 2001 by Terence Chua
(to the tune of "Springtime for Hitler" by Mel Brooks)

Middle Earth was having trouble
When we start our story
Sauron had awakened
To restore his former glory
So in Hobbiton
We looked there and found
The way to stop that evil sod
That wants to grind us down
And now it's

Ring time for Frodo and Company
We're setting out on the march
Journeying through perpetual gloom
Seeking to find the Cracks of Doom!

Ring time for Frodo and Company
Ring wraiths are hot on our tails
Ring time for Frodo and Company
Watch out Mordor, we're hitting the trail!

(spoken)
Just a word of sage advice - bashing Balrogs isn't nice!
Life in darkness can't be finer - when you are a Nazgul rider!

(cue dance number)

Ring time for Frodo and Company
(sound of bells ringing)
Questing's the best thing for fun
(sound of hoofbeats and clashing of swords)
Searching through dark and dusty tombs
(sound of screams falling into a dark abyss)
Finding our way through Khazad-dum!

Ring time for Frodo and Company
New friends to meet on our way
Ring time for Frodo and Company
And soon we'll be saving
We're gonna be saving
You know we'll be saving the day!

Don't hurt me.

I rarely put up recordings of parodies. I figure people can find the
tune for themselves. In this case, "Springtime for Hitler" is the
central theme from the movie (and now the musical), "The Producers", but
I based it on the movie version of the song, not the extended musical
version.

Oh, you can go ahead and put up a recording, I grant you permission.
You see, Mel Brooks has sold me 100% of the rights to The Producers, so
I can.....what do you mean, you too? See, it's 100%, so you
can't....you *also* purchased 100% of the rights? But....I'm
confused...

Now, I _know_ Julian thought Bad Thoughts at some point while singing
that Shakespeare/Morley thing. Now I wish I'd done something about
"In springtime, the only pretty ring time".

I wrote this lyric a few years ago:

It was a brave Rohirric lass,
With a hey and a ho and a hey nonny no,
And a hey nonny nonny no,
That kicked the evil Witch-king's ass,
In springtime, in springtime,
In springtime, the end-of-Sauron's-Ring-time,
The minstrels sing, hey ding-a-ding-a-ding,
Hey ding-a-ding-a-ding, hey ding-a-ding-a-ding,
The Dark Lord fell in Spring.
In springtime, in springtime, the end-of-Sauron's-Ring-time,
The minstrels sing, hey ding-a-ding-a-ding,
Hey ding-a-ding-a-ding, hey ding-a-ding-a-ding,
The Dark Lord fell in Spring.

Upon the field of Pelennor,
With a hey, etc.
The King of Angmar's reign was o'er,
In springtime, etc.

Then gained the West the victory,
With a hey, etc.
And made the Nazgul all to flee,
In springtime, etc.

BTW...ROTFLMAO at "Ring Time for Frodo" -- it's truly inspired.

Be a schmahty,
Get Terence for
Your housefilk pahty!!

<LOL> Signe and I really enjoyed this, Terence. Hope to hear you perform
it sometime. You know, if you came to GaFilk and did it, we could just
about *stage* it....

At least we'd have plenty of in-tune voices for the chorus!!

Going to hell? You mean you drive too slow in the fast lane?
