Charlie's Chatterings - Wednesday 22nd July

Outside Woolpack
Terry is bringing the milk in. Eric runs up wanting to know if Alan is
in.

Sugden's Farm
Jack is still annoyed about Emma taking the job at the holiday village
without asking them first. Both the kids tell him they want her to
stay. Sarah says that she does help around the farm. Emma comes in
complaining that she should start work today and says that the Sugdens
don't want her. Jack agrees that if Action Man and Becky say she can
stay then it is fine with them.

Dingles house
Mandy is complaining that going into partnership with Pollard on the
barn isn't as good as she thought as no-one ever goes there, its just a
store room and Pollard never lets her go to the house clearances. Paddy
suggests a huge advertising campaign, really he means a card in the Post
Office window.

Pub
Eric is trying to talk Alan into becoming licensee of the Wine Bar. He
says Alan has first refusal. Alan turns him down telling him he still
holds a grudge that Eric tried to con him out of the Woolpack.

Holiday Village
All the new cleaners have shown up for work. Roy is in charge of them.
He notices there is one missing, then Paulette (from the outdoor
experience thing earlier in the year) shows up. She has a job there.

Oakwell Hall
Tara is telling Biff how she couldn't have done all this without him and
how she has to organise for the body to be kept in the study. Biff says
he will organise all that and she should just rest. He suggests they
take the day off and spend it together, but before Tara replies, Lord
Michael suddenly appears back from his trip, gushing sympathy. He tells
Tara how much he regrets leaving her to face things on her own and
dismisses Biff saying that he will take Tara off. Tara just lets
herself be lead. Biff seethes in the background. Michael leaves a
trail of slime along the floor :)

Post Office
Mandy comes in to put the card in the window. Eric comes in and starts
sucking up to Vic, says he has a business proposition for him, cause
they are very much the same. Vic falls for all his banter, especially
the money for nothing part and takes him into the back to talk in
private, leaving Viv to run the shop.

Holiday Village
Everyone questions Paulette on why she has come back. She tells them
that her father has moved to Hotten as he thinks her friends in Leeds
were a bad influence. She starts to suck up to Roy.

Woolpack
Terry and Will are in from training and Terry is making Will a
nutritious milkshake for his lunch. Will starts being pessimistic
saying he'll never manage to make the team. Terry brushes over it
telling him he is dead cert. Heather tells Will that Terry will clean
his house for a month if Will fails. Once Will has left Heather
questions Terry on whether he believes Will can make it or if he is just
getting the boys hopes up. Terry tells her he has faith in the boy.

Post Office
Eric is trying to get Vic to be licensee. Vic says he wants to be
active in the bar, like in Casablanca, he agrees to the license but says
he has to talk to Viv.

Tearooms
Kathy and Marlon are having a board meeting. Kathy is getting quite
sympathetic towards Eric, as usual, until Marlon tells him about him
bribing the magistrate. He talks her into taking out a full ad in the
Courier which tells the public that there is no connection between the
tearooms and the Wine Bar.

ADVERTS

Oakwell Hall
Michael and Tara come back to the house. Biff helps Tara out of the
car, who tells him that he was right and it was too soon to go through
her father's things and then is ordered about by Michael who tells him
to unload the boot, whilst he babies Tara, he says he is staying for a
few days which cheers Biff up (yeah right) and then insists on checking
that she gets to bed ok.

Post Office
Vic is trying to convince Viv that the license idea is a good one. She
needs little convincing but says she must negotiate with Eric.

Holiday Village
Lynn goes looking for Kirsty and finds her binging on chocolate but
Kirsty covers her tracks. Back in the meeting room, Emma is
complaining that Paulette went missing and she did all the work. Dean
seems to fancy Paulette. When Roy comes in and asks where Miss Spice
is, Paulette walks in with some story about having cut her finger and
walking to the village for a plaster. Roy sympathises with her.

Barn
Vic tells Eric that they accept the propsal but he needs to talk to Viv.

Oakwell Hall
Biff runs upstairs and goes into Tara's rooms. She is there alone. She
apologises for Michael but says she wants him around because he was
close to her father. Biff asks her to tell him about them, but she says
she doesn't want to hurt Michael. Biff tells her she is hurting him by
letting Michael be there. She tells him she isn't strong enough to
cope with his petty jealousy at the moment. Biff gives her an
ultimatum, she has to tell Michael or he'll leave.

Sugden's Farm
Jack tells Emma that he has spoken to her parents and they are off to
Saudi for a month so she can stay.

Wine Bar
Viv and Vic are negotiating with Eric. Viv wants him to double his
money offer as he needs them so much. And they want free drinks. Eric
agrees and wants to go see Kathy and tell her the 'good news'.

Oakwell Hall
Michael tells Biff he can go home and not come in for a few days until
the funeral. Biff tells him he doesn't employ him. Michael gets all
Lord of the Manor and tells Biff he'll have a word and get him sacked
after the funeral. Biff tells him not to worry, he might not still be
there then.

Cottage
Eric, Viv and Vic go off to tell Kathy. Kathy sets into Eric and tells
him the contract drawn up between them states Eric as the only name on
the license therefore the contract is void if Viv and Vic take on the
license. Viv and Vic back out of the deal.

Oakwell Hall
Biff goes into the lounge where Tara and Michael are and says he is
leaving until the funeral. Michael tells him not to come to the funeral
but to come to the house later. Tara says she wants him at the
funeral. Michael says there is no room for staff in the church and that
Tara's father hardly knew him. MIchael finally gets on Tara's nerves
and she tells him that she wants Biff to be there for her and rather
than Biff leaving she thinks that Michael should leave Oakwell Hall.

Did anyone else think Tara would just walk over to Biff and start
kissing him??

The Vicar of Emmerdale.

I'd put something funny here if I knew how to. :-(

I certainly hoped so, but I imagine that would have been bad form all
round.
I think Lord M. is going to have Biff done over some dark night. The man
has his pride you know.

My moneys on him giving Biff some aggro at the funeral and Biff smacking
his teeth out of his head.
