Charlie's Chatterings - 29/07/98
Charlie
Hospital
Kim and Steve are outside James' room. Kim is still very upset. Zoe
arrives, come from a conference in London (hmmm, no mention of this
before). The doctor comes out and tells them James has severe croupe,
tells them that 'most' child survive. This obviously doesn't perk Steve
and Kim up much.
Home Farm
Biff and Tara are talking. Tara tells him its the will reading today.
They say they have no regrets and Biff adds the comment of 'stuff
everyone'. He tells her he loves her. Chris comes in, complaining that
the Merc is blocking his car in (the driveway is bloody huge, how is
this possible, do the people from the holiday village use Home Farm
drive as a car park?). Tara leaves, Biff asks Chris what the hurry is.
He says he has to go to the hospital. Biff replies 'why have they found
a heart for you?'. Chris bites back with the fact that James is very
ill. Biff points out that Chris has never cared before.
Holiday Village
Kirsty is sulky as ever. Roy comes along late. Paulette enquires
whether he has missed her. The teams are changed round. Paulette works
with Kirsty and Emma works with Lynne.
Woolpack
They are all talking about James outside. Heather is asking what she
should wear at the rugby dinner tonight, Will is complaining that he has
to have a boring night cause the trial is tomorrow. Heather and Terry
are being slushy.
Garage
Zak and Butch are unpacking the stolen dry cleaning and trying to hide
it in the garage. The aim is to hang on to them for a few weeks and
then give them to Mandy once the people have left the village. Mandy
comes along with Lisa and they find the clothes in the van. Mandy is
well pleased.
Hospital
Kim is worried James will die. Chris arrives, asks if there is anything
he can do. Steve tries to get Kim to eat something or go and have a
rest. She says she won't leave James, that he's her son and not
Steve's. She blames Steve for all the, the fact he didn't realise, and
that if they still had money, James would be better taken care of.
Holiday Village
Paulette tells everyone she fancies Roy. Dean tells everyone that
Kirsty likes Will. Paulette starts to pick on her so sulky stomps off.
Hospital
Steve is sat on his own in the corridor very upset. Zoe comes to say
goodbye to him cause she has to go help Paddy out at the surgery. Steve
says he blames himself, but Zoe tells him he has been a good dad to
James.
Home Farm
There appears to be some problems in the will. At a lucky guess, the
money is in a bad state. Tara needs to work out what to do so she asks
Laura to stay on for a few days. Tara says she needs to talk to Biff.
Laura advises her this would not be a good thing to do. She cannot talk
to anyone until the legal position is clear.
Holiday Village
Sulky is stomping about. Emma tries to talk to her, she says that
Paulette is jealous of her. Roy shouts at them which doesn't help. The
woman from yesterday comes up and asks Roy about the dry cleaning.
Hospital
Kim is talking to the doctor. He says that James would be far worse off
if Steve hadn't acted so promptly. Chris tries to get Kim to see sense
(he obviously had an accidental lobotomy on coming into the hospital) he
tells her about his accident and how he wanted someone to blame for it.
Kim replies that it was an accident. Chris says he realises that but he
could have stopped what happened after if he had realised it was
nobodies fault. Instead it tore apart his marriage and his family. Kim
says she only cares about her son. Chris tells her he doesn't think
that is true cause she has had plenty of chance to get rid of Steve,
therefore by staying with him, she must love him very much.

Holiday Village
Roy is quizzing the staff about the dry cleaning. Emma thinks Paulette
has something to do with it. Paulette says she saw the blokes. Two
lardy blokes, one with a beard and one with ginger hair. Unsurprisingly
these descriptions ring a bell with Roy.
Hospital
Kim goes to talk to Steve. He apologises and so does she. She tells
him she didn't mean all that she said. Steve tells her he has hardly
turned into the ideal parent or husband. They wonder what ahs happened
to them when they can't even stop arguing over James' sickbed. Kim
feels guilty about all the time she has spent on the business instead of
James. They promise to be a proper family once this is all over.
Home Farm
Biff comes into the lounge, Laura hasn't left yet. Laura tells Tara
there is to be no business talk tonight. Tara looks off, Biff notices.
She won't tell him what is wrong so he says he is going to take her out
cause he wants to show her off. She almost tells him what is wrong.
Pub
Lynne asks Kirsty if she wants to go to the wine bar that night. Kirsty
declines saying she is underage. Heather and Terry go off to dinner.
Lynne tells Kirsty that things will get better, she'll get a boyfriend
and be able to go out. She leaves and Kirsty grabs all the crisps and
chocolate and goes upstairs.
Garage
Mandy is looking through the clothes, excited. Lisa is trying on the
lady's suede jacket from yesterday. Zak ntoices Roy coming over and
tries to get the jacket off Lisa. Roy spots it and says the police
won't b involved if the clothes are returned, dry cleaned by tomorrow.
Wine Bar
No-one is in. Eric comes over to Marlon and Lynne and throws Lynne out
cause she is underage. Marlon tells Eric to sell up and get a life, the
wine bar is sinking fast.
Pub
Kathy is complaining about Eric in the pub. Viv comes in and starts to
gossip about baby James and what a bad parent Kim is. Ned overhears and
demands to know why Roy didn't tell him. Roy says that Ned has always
said James is Frank's and hasn't wanted anything to do with him. Seems
Ned now thinks that he might be Dave's. Biff and Tara come in. Viv
starts having a go about how Biff is a hypocrite after all he has said
about Dave and Kim, and tells Tara that he is trouble etc etc. Biff
gets annoyed and tells everyone that he doesn't care what they all
think, he loves Tara. He says he knows what wrong with them all, that
he's happy and that's a crime around here.
Upstairs in the pub
Lynne comes into Sulky's room and sees all the empty packets.
Downstairs in pub
Heather and Terry come in drunk and all over one another. They ask Alan
how the night went. Alan says it was a typical night in the Woolpack,
Viv accused Kim of neglect, Kathy wants to murder Eric and Biff
announced he loves Lady Tara.
Upstairs in the pub
Lynne is quizzing Sulky on whether she has eaten it all (or maybe
whinged it all into oblivion). She realises that sulky has bulimia and
says she needs help. Sulky continues to deny that she has a problem.
That's your lot
He loves her, and she loves him :) Lets hope a plane lands on Michael!!
