Bill's Blubberings Wed 8/4/98
Bill Sands
Morning outside Tea Rooms
Cathy asks Rachel where she was last night. (We know, don,t we?).
Eric appears to put out a sign saying Pollards. Closed till further
notice. Cathy tries to console Eric who points out that 'as someone
whose relationships make Custers Last Stand look like a triumph!' she
is a fine one to give advice.
Cairns
Becky fobbing Emma off as to reasons for the split. Will tells Emma to
drop it. He announces that he is not going to Germany with Tony or
anywhere with Becky. He intends to scrounge a pit with Biff and
Marlon.
Vets
Steve asks Zoe to sign a cheque as Kim and Chris are away. Zoe notes
that it is payable to Kelly and is for an unspecified amount. Steve
admits that it is to keep Kelly quiet and is no more or less than
Frank would have done.Steve hears a noise and opens a door to find
Betty close behind it. He accuses her of spying. She replies that she
is the eyes and ears of the village and her conscience is clear. She
puts Zoe in her place re the Cairns split and storms out telling Zoe
that she can find another cleaner.
Annies Cottage
Biff finds a pair of his socks (very smelly) that Jed Outhwaite has
been wearing and tells Marlon that Jed has to go. Marlon finds it
funny until Biff tells him that Jed is wearing Marlon's underpants.
Jed escapes to work before they can have a go.
Village Green
Will tells Emma that Becky is to blame for the split. Emma says that
maybe Tony drove her to it. Will then tells Emma that it was Zoe, not
another man.
Emmerdale Farm
Ned and Jack are busy ditching under Jed's critical eye when Sarah
brings the tea and biccys which Jed promptly scoffs. Jed suggests that
the Sugdens put him up. Sarah says an emphatic no.
Vets
Paddy comes off phone to his mum as Zoe walks in. Paddy says that mum
is coming to stay and that this is a disaster as she always
criticises. She always compares him to his brother the hospital
consultant. He wonders what she will make of Mandy and the Dingles.
Post Office Living Room
Viv storms in to turn off the music that Kelly and Lyn are listening
to as it is too loud in the shop. Tells Kelly that she should get back
to college and take her exams.Vic shows Steve who says that he has
some forms for Kelly to fill in. Exit all except him and Kelly who
replies to his query that she is well considering his fiance pushed
her down stairs.
Woolpack
Betty,with Seth tries to get the low down on the Tony/Becky saga from
Big Al. He refuses so a spiteful Betty asks him if he has found
another cleaner yet. Betty shocks Seth by saying that she will not go
back to any of the cleaning jobs. Seth, probably wondering where his
next pint will come from, reminds her that they will lose a lot of
money and will be bored. Betty suggests signing them up for Old Time
Dancing and Crown Green Bowls. Seth looks thrilled.Paddy comes in and
asks if Betty will put up his mum on a B&B basis. Betty say yes as she
has been thinking of expanding the guest house business(???), once
Seth has redecorated of course!
PO
Steve offers Kelly UKP500.00 as a sweetener which she turns down
asking what would happen if she went to court. Steve tell s her that
she is out of her depth but ups it to UKP1000.00 for good measure. She
accepts, signs a disclaimer and asks Steve not to tell the family.
Steve leaves and Lyn comes in to be offered a night out on Kelly that
night.Viv overhears this as she comes in to order Kelly to man the
counter for a while.
Annies Cottage
As Biff admits Will he notices Jed about to soak his feet in the
washing-up bowl."I took the dishes out first" says Jed.Biff kicks him
out and tells him that he has 24 hours to find somewhere else to live.
Enter Marlon who enquires what Will is doing there. Will says that he
is looking for accommodation and Biff says ok as long as Jack agrees.
Dingles
Lisa working on Jacks tractor in yard with a sad Sam looking on. When
Zak appears she complains about working in open,especially as she
wants to take on more auto work. Zak promises to run in an extension
lead to put it right. Sam tells Lisa that he is down because no women
will want him. Zak comes back with the extension lead and tells Lisa
that she now has a state of the art workshop. Lisa asks Zak to give
Sam some fatherly advice. He agrees and it goes:" SAM! SNAP OUT OF IT!
A Samaritan in the making.
Tea Rooms
Betty asks Cathy why she feels the need to comfort Pollard who appears
for tea set up by Cathy. Betty gives him an earful making him retreat
back upstairs.
Woolpack
Dingles and Paddy gather. Mandy says that Paddy's mother coming is a
milestone in their relationship and that she must stay at the Dingles.
She then proceeds to order them to "muck out the back room" as she is
practically family.
Vets
Emma come to ask Zoe for details of what happened. Zoe declines.
PO
Viv accuses Kelly of stealing make up from the shop. Kelly shows that
she has paid for it. Kelly and Lyn go out leaving Donna looking
Fed-up. Vic and Viv find till UKP30 short and instantly go into blame
kelly mode, whilst donna goes quietly into guilt mode.
Woolpack
Paddy accuses Mandy of treating his mum like royalty, but Mandy say no
"she's more important than that" Becky comes in to tell Will that Emma
hasn't come home.
PO
Kelly comes home to face the music. Vic goes into full plank mode
prompting Viv to offer to deal with it on her own. Viv tell Kelly that
the party is over and that she will be on the straight and narrow now.
Vets
Becky comes in followed by Will to tell Zoe to stay away from them.
(not bad seeing that they are in Zoes' place).
PO
Viv carries on saying that she is in charge and that Kelly will go
back to college or she will go to police and social services if
necessary. Kelly fakes a fall into the wall injuring her face. She
screams, Vic enters and Kelly accuses Viv of hitting her. Vic goes
into Hyper-Plank mode and comforts Kelly.
