I have key and all - how do I get into maintenence mode and change the root
password? - Been many moons since I have had to do this
http://dbforums.com/t634935.html
Basically, boot from cd, hit f5 if you have a graphical console or the 5
key for ascii console when the keyboard is 1st initialised at boot time
and this shold then boot from CD.
Follow the prompts until you get to the maint menu and select "maint and
recovery" -> "start a maint shell" -> "mount the rootvg filesystems"
then again follow the prompts selecting you rootvg disk etc..
once in the maint shell use the passwd command and set the passwd. you
will be logged in as root so just type
# passwd <cr>

When you are given 4 or 5 choices of actions in diagnostics mode, ignore the
displayed choices, but enter '41'. You will now be in a root shell with no
password required. This backdoor was removed in 4.3.3.
