Hi. I maintain the Marilyn Manson discography. Look over this and let me know
if I've left out anything. All I really need right now are serial numbers for
releases, but I'm always on the lookout for new Manson info. DO NOT POST IT
HERE!!! My news server blows, so please e-mail me instead.

Thanks.

D.R.

P.S. Sorry if it looks kinda funny. It's formatted for fixed-font web
browsers, not Free Agent.

Hello kiddies! You've stumbled upon the amazing Marilyn Manson discogrpahy!
This document is an attempt to gather all the information on all known
Marilyn Manson releases. For the most part, I'm not going to cover
bootlegs, since Rudolf (rwat...@oswego.edu) has that base covered with his
online discography (http://www.oswego.edu/~rwatkins/manson/). Check it out.
It's a good page.

This document is (c)1997 John Douglas Roark (dro...@naxs.com). I grant the
reader of this document the right to distribute this document however they
wish (like I can really stop you anyway) as long as I and the contributors
still receive full credit. Also, I prefer that you check my home page first
to get the latest version of the discography. As long as I can get new info
about Manson releases, no matter how obscure the info is, I'll pass it
along.

a)The legal releases

---
THE MEAT BEAT CLEAVER BEAT
X 1989 CS Self-produced No number US

???

This is the first Manson release (at least as a full band). Details are
sketchy. Anyone who can help me should e-mail me.

-All of these tracks are probably available on the 100 min. demo
compilation.

---
???
X 1989(?) CS Self-produced No number US

???

This is a mysterious tape which hasn't surfaced. The only known is that it
exists, and by golly, that isn't a whole lot of info to go on. It might be
the mysterious one known as "Snuffy's VCR."

-All of the songs can probably be found on the 100 min. demo compilation.

---
BIG BLACK BUS
X 1990 CS Self-produced No number US

White Knuckles/My Monkey/Same Strange Dogma/Red in My Head

The third release. Again, details are sketchy.

-All of these tracks appear on the 100 min. demo compilation.
-My Monkey is the same version found on the Lunchbox release. A live
version can be found on Refridgerator.

NOTE: A fake version and remastered fake version of this tape that surfaced
in early '96 is floating around. It was distributed by a person who thought
it was the real thing. Here's the set list.

IV-TV/My Monkey/Red in My Head/Cake and Sodomy/Meat For a Queen/Cat in the
Hat/She's Not My Girlfriend/Someone Get That/Charlie's Ditty

-Someone Get That appears to be a collection of three phone conversations or
answering machine messages pulled from various tapes.
-I have no idea what Charlie's Ditty is, but it's probably not a Manson
song.

---
GRIST-O-LINE
X 1990 CS Self-produced No number US

Dune Buggy/Cake and Sodomy/Meat For a Queen/She's Not My Girlfriend

The fourth band-produced tape.

-All of these tracks can be found on the 100 min. demo compilation.
-A live version of Cake & Sodomy can be found on Refridgerator.

NOTE: The version of Dune Buggy on Lunchbox is a re-recorded version, and
not a copy of this one.

---
AFTER-SCHOOL SPECIAL
X 1991 CS Self-produced No number US

Negative 3/Lunchbox/Choklit Factory/Cyclops

The fifth tape. It's the earliest tape of which decent information is
known, including artwork and the like.

-All of these tracks can be found on the 100 min. demo compilation.
-A live version of Lunchbox can be found on Refridgerator.

---
LUNCHBOX
X 1991 CS Self-produced No number US

Dune Buggy/My Monkey/Learning to Swim/Cake and Sodomy

-Dune Buggy and Learning to Swim can be found on the 100 min. demo
compilation.
-This version of My Monkey can be found on BBB. A live version can be found
on Refridgerator.

---
THE FAMILY JAMS
X 1992 CS Self-produced No number US

Dope Hat/Same Strange Dogma/Let Your Ego Die/Thingmaker/White Knuckles/Luci
in the Sky with Demons

The lucky seventh release. This is the final tape that consists of entirely
new studio material.

-Dope Hat can also be found on the Refridgerator release.

---
REFRIGERATOR
X 1993 CS Self-produced #X of 100 US

Cake and Sodomy/Suicide Snowman/Lunchbox/My Monkey/Thrift/Filth/Wrapped in
Plastic/Dope Hat

The final self-produced release. Only 100 copies exist, and each copy
featured original artwork by the band members (I assume each member got to
draw 20 pieces), and was individually numbered.

-Tracks 1-4 can be found on the bootlegged Tampa radio show where the tracks
originally aired. They apparently come from the "Live as Hell" release by
the radio station, of which no info is known.
-Dope Hat can be found on the The Family Jams release.

NOTE: A version of this has been floating around with Misery Machine at the
end. It shouldn't be there, and is from the Tampa radio show.

---
LAW OF THRIFT
X 1993(?) VID Self-produced No number US

???

This film has been mentioned on some SpookyKids fliers as being for sale,
but it apparently never was sold. The footage was shot for it and ready to
go, but something happened that caused it to not be sold.

---
SAME STRANGE DOGMA

X 1993(?) VID Self-produced No number US

Same Strange Dogma

Reportedly Manson's first serious music video.

---

b)Significant bootlegs

---
THE 100 MINUTE DEMO COMPILATION

- 199? CS Some guy in Tampa No number US

Dune Buggy (Lunchbox version)/Negative Three/Lunchbox/Choklit Factory/
Cyclops/White Knuckles/My Monkey/Same Strange Dogma/Red in My Head/Son of
Man/Junk the Magic Dragon/Learning to Swim/IV-TV/Talk of One Thought of
None/Dune Buggy (Grist-O-Line version)/Cake and Sodomy/Meat For a Queen/
She's Not My Girlfriend/Devil in My Lunchbox/Number 9/Cat in the Hat/Justify
My Love

A real gem for Manson fans. The tape surfaced in early '95 when a 14 year
old was found at a Manson concert who had a copy made from his brother's
copy that was made from the original tape (i.e. a 2'nd generation copy), and
gave it to a big Manson fan. The rest is history.

NOTE 1: In mid-1996, Gagfish borrowed the 2'nd gen tape, had most of the
static removed at a local recording studio, and proceeded to sell a limited
amount of professionally pressed copies (don't ask him for one, because he's
sold out, and won't be doing it again). The presser messed up, causing
ToOToN and DiML to not be on the tape. The tape was filled up with part of
an hour long tape Gagne had acquired of previously unreleased Manson phone
conversations and answering machine messages.

NOTE 2: There's a bit of confusion over this tape. After Number 9, there's
a piece of music which has a series of samples from the film "Desperate
Teenage Lovedolls." It's commonly referred to as "Those Fucking Bitches,"
but is not listed in the liner notes. Either the name got lost along the
way, and it's a real track, or Manson used it in the early days as an
unnamed track to fill up the space between songs. Either way, the source is
unknown.

-Both versions of Dune Buggy can be found on the releases mentioned above.
-Tracks 2-5 can be found on After-School Special.
-Tracks 6-9 can be found on Big Black Bus.
-Tracks 15-18 can be found on Grist-O-Line.
-Track 12 can be found on Lunchbox.
-Tracks 10, 11, 13, 14, and 19-22 are from unknown releases. My guess is
that 10, 11, 13, and 14 are from MBCB, and 19-22 are from the unknown tape,
but that's just an educated guess. I could be wrong.

---
1991 RADIO DEMOS

- 1991 CS A Florida fan No number US

White Knuckles/Misery Machine

Another mysterious release. These are supposedly tracks captured off the
radio. White Knuckles sounds like a new version, but Misery Machine sounds
exactly like the version on the Tampa radio show. Perhaps it wasn't live,
but a track Manson gave to the people running the show.

---
TAMPA RADIO SHOW

- 1992 CS Some guy in Tampa No number US

Cake and Sodomy/Suicide Snowman/Lunchbox/Learning to Swim/Interview with Mr.
Manson/My Monkey/Misery Machine

These tracks are from WYNF's "Radio Clash" radio show in Tampa, FL, and are
believed to have been recorded on April 26, 1992.

It's also been reported that this show is from San Francisco, but the
station call letters, in that case, would be KYNF. Besides, why would
Manson go all the way to California when he was still basically a local act?

Tracks 1-3 and My Monkey can also be found on Refridgerator.

---
(Student film)

X 1993(?) VID Self-produced No number US

Lunchbox/???

A two track shot of a live Manson show by a film student. The film was
made professionally with multiple cameras and various video effects. It's
not an official Manson product, but one that he apparently blessed.

---
WHITE TRASH VOL. 2

? 1996 CD Hurricane Records HURR023 US

Dreams of Amputation/Blender/Kill House

This CD is mostly bad copies of the other tapes, but according to the CD,
these three tracks are "rough 4-track demos" for the soundtrack to a horror
film a friend of Manson made. Debate has raged for months over these
tracks. Since only one track has vocals, and the singer seems to be able to
morph into Manson or Nivek Ogre of Skinny Puppy whenever he wants, who
knows. I myself think these tracks aren't real Manson songs, particularly
because Hurricane nevers seems to know what they're talking about, but until
Manson or someone close to him confirms whether or not these tracks are
Manson tracks, they'll stay here.

c)Compilations with pre-POAAF songs

---
FUNNEL ZONE
X 1991 CD Dossier Records DCD 9017 GE

White Knuckles/Same Strange Dogma

This compilation was limited to 5000 copies, with only 100 set aside for
distribution in the US.

-Both tracks sound like enhanced versions of the tracks found on Big Black
Bus.

---
MIAMI ROCKS/EAST COAST MUSIC FORUM VOL. 4
X 1992 CS ??? ??? US

???

This release was distibuted at a major label showcase event in Miami where
Manson played. The cassette was handed out to registered guests and
industry bigwigs. The track list at the current time is unknown, but
there's at least one Manson track on here. More info should be coming soon.

Prelude (The Family Trip)/Cake and Sodomy/Lunchbox/Organ Grinder/Cyclops/
Dope Hat/Get Your Gunn/Wrapped in Plastic/Dogma/Sweet Tooth/Snake Eyes and
Sissies/My Monkey/Misery Machine

The first LP. At the end of Misery Machine, after a few seconds of silence,
a sample from the movie "Desperate Living" is heard. After that, a
telephone rings for several minutes, then an answering machine message from
the old Marilyn Manson hotline is heard.

New versions of the album have different printing on the CD than the
original. At least five colors are known, and have no effect on the value
of the CD.

This album was not originally produced by Trent Reznor. The original
version was produced by Roli Mosimann, but Manson felt the final product was
too "smoothed out," so Reznor was brought in to re-produce the album. The
band liked the product, and put it out.

The cover art was originally supposed to contain a picture of a nude six
year old Manson covering his genitals. However, when Interscope found out
it would make the album child pornography in 20 out of 50 US states (oops!),
it was pulled. Murder scene photos (I assume fake ones, but this is Manson,
you know, and he did mention something at some point about an ex-
girlfriend...) were also pulled from the liner notes.

-Lunchbox and GYG can be found on their respective singles.
-Cyclops can be heard in the Natural Born Killers movie.
-Snake Eyes and Sissies can be found on the The Beautiful People single.

This release was originally meant to be a single for Dope Hat, but quickly
mutated into what it is now.

After R'nRN, track 16 consists of some silence, an unnamed track, more
silence, and a second unnamed track.

New versions of the album have slightly different printing on the CD than
the original.

NOTE: On the original promo, the first track was called Abuse pt. 1 (There
Is Pain Involved), and the tenth track was Abuse pt. 2 (Confession). These
tracks were replaced in the end because Interscope was nervous about them.
Also, SCGB, KG, and EC had uncleared samples that had to be pulled from the
final release. The promo was recalled to be destroyed by the factory, but
some copies are still floating around. The regular promo is the same as the
publicly released SLC, and you can tell the difference between the regular
and recalled promos only by looking at serial numbers printed on the CD (see
Coyote's FAQ for details). The recalled promo has been bootlegged by at
least two companies so far.

-White Trash is actually an acoustic version of Cake & Sodomy done by bus

-Kiddie Grinder is an Organ Grinder remix.
-Diary of a Dope Fiend is a slow re-recorded version of Dope Hat.
-Everlasting Cocksucker is a remix of Cake & Sodomy.

Wings/Kinderfeld/Antichrist Superstar/1996/Minute of Decay/The Reflecting
God/Man That You Fear/Down in the Park (Japanese release only. I don't know
which track number it is yet.)

Take note that the blurb about IHA being live is just part of the storyline
revolving around the album. It is just a studio recording with some crowd
noise at the beginning of the song. According to Mr. Manson, people had to
be on his brain wavelength to hear the song before 2/14/97.

Also, this album has 99 tracks except for the Japanese version. Tracks 17-
98 are blank, and 99 has a spoken word piece that, when played right before
IHA, ties into it.

The cover printing of the title is not an error. Svperstar is the ancient
Roman spelling of Superstar. They had u's, but didn't write with them.

Early versions of the Australian release came with a free video. It
contained the video for The Beautiful People and a poor quality copy of
Sweet Dreams (are made of this) from the self-titled single and Smells Like
Children.

-The Beautiful People can be found on its own single.
-Cryptorchid can be found on the The Beautiful People single.
-A version of Antichrist Superstar with different lyrics can be found on its

AMBOOG-A-LARD
This really isn't a side-project. It's Twiggy's old band.

Intro/Beyond Insanity/Medicine Man (L.O.G.R.A.Y.)/A Matter of Honor/
Trouble/Art of Sin/Winds & Disease/Do Or Do Not/A New Hope

Jeordie White is credited with bass and vocals throughout the album, and
co-writing everything except "Intro."

---

Twiggy can also be seen playing with Amboog-A-Lard in a two-song clip (Thou
Shalt Not Kill and Medicine Man (L.O.G.R.A.Y.)) at the 1992 Slammies, an
awards show in Florida.

COLLAPSING LUNGS
The band ex-bassist Olivia Newton-Bundy joined as a vocalist after leaving
MM. The name eventually changed to Collapsing Lungs, and he left to join
Nation of Fear.

(NOTE: They started as L.U.N.G.S., and then changed to the current name.)

Crackerjack/Let's Play A Game/Bang!/Too Blind to See/Down For the Count

Info's a bit sketchy on this one. It is known that Olivia is on this
record, though (I should have his name soon). This appears to have only
been released as a promo.

****************************************************************************
INDIA LOVES YOU
The only conifrmed band Daisy was in before joining Manson. It was him and
Cindy Deats, the vocalist. No recordings are known to exist.
****************************************************************************

****************************************************************************
LIFE, SEX, AND DEATH
A band that Zim Zum was briefly in. He joined to play live shows for a
couple of months, then left. He is not on any of the band's recordings.
****************************************************************************

****************************************************************************
PIGFACE
Again, this really isn't a side project, but Mr. Manson was very briefly in
this industrial rotating member band. The only known appearance of Manson
with Martin Atkins and Co. is a 1993 video bootleg with Mr. Manson singing
"Suck." No other shows with Manson are known, but one would assume he did
more gigs with them, at least in Florida. He is not on any of the band's
recordings.
****************************************************************************

****************************************************************************
SICK MOTHERFUCKERS
Another rotating lineup band, this time fronted by Dee Snyder. The band
does Twisted Sister covers. During Nine Inch Nails' "Self Destruct" tour,
Twiggy and Robin Finck of NIN played with them in a one-time only gig on
Dec. 10, 1994 at the Rockridge Saloon, New York, NY. An audio (and possibly
video) bootleg of the show does exist.
****************************************************************************

****************************************************************************
THREE TON GATE
The band Daisy formed after leaving MM. A record contract is rumored to be
very close for the band.

MARILYN MANSON-(Home video)

After the SLC tour, this video was supposed to be released. Plans included
the vid having all the videos, and live footage. Richard Kern was the
original director, but he pulled out. The project is now in limbo, and will
probably never be released.

---
MARILYN MANSON-(ACS followup EP)

Manson definitely has plans for an EP to be released by the end of the year.
It will contain remixes and songs from the ACS recording sessions that
Manson liked, but couldn't fit into the story. There may be filler material
like sound bytes and such, but that remains to be seen.

---
(Miscellaneous items from the mouths of Manson and/or Zim.)
-The Snoop Doggy Dogg remix of TBP is in limbo. It might make the followup
EP for ACS which will hopefully come out by the end of the year.
-Videos for ACS and Cryptorchid do exist. However, Manson wasn't pleased
with the quality, so he didn't publicly release them. ACS was reportedly
shown at a San Francisco art festival, though. It was shown alongside
other videos MTV has severely edited or banned.
-After the Dried Up... vid is shot, the band may do a vid for Man That You
Fear, but it's undecided for the time being.
-A home video of some sort may be released, but don't hold your breath,
espically since Manson hasn't even had a chance to go through the footage
from the SLC tour.
-Manson plans to collaborate in separate one-off projects with artists such
as Diamanda Galas and Billy Corgan.
-Sean Beavan and Manson have done at least one remix of Tourniquet together.
Word is it's pretty good (Mr. Manson, paying homage to Trent, refers to it
as the "titty dancer remix"), so it'll probably be heard on the forthcoming
ACS followup EP.
-There are already tons of TBP and Tourniquet remixes in addition to the
Beavan/Manson one, so don't worry about there being a lack of them.

****************************************************************************
NINE INCH NAILS
Brian Warner was thanked in the "The Downward Spiral" credits, and at the
Dec. 8, 1994 NIN gig at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY, Twiggy filled
in for guitarist Robin Finck, who was nursing a fractured thumb.

(VII)Help needed and rumors
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

a)Help needed

---
Well, as you can see, this discography needs a lot of work. If you can help
me with any info, or correct me on something, please let me know. I mainly
want to get the little details down first (record companies, disc numbers,
etc.), and then attempt the Florida stuff, which is obviously the hardest.

---

b)Rumors

---
-There may be even more old Florida stuff. Reportedly, Manson did do some
very primitive stuff on his own before Daisy came along, or did it with Pogo
(ex. Devil in My Lunchbox. Note that this track does not necessarily
predate the Florida releases. It's just an example). This is one of the
more credible rumors, but nothing solid has turned up so far.

-Big Black Bus: The Movie? According to a source, BBB was supposed to
become a Manson-produced movie. Nobody knows what came of it, if anything.

-Yet another tape from Florida is rumored to exist. It's called "Suicide is
Beautiful" and contains White Knuckles and My Monkey. However, this isn't
confirmed, and since it's mentioned on White Trash Vol. 2 beside the
supposed soundtrack songs, I doubt it exists, and am keeping it in the rumor
section for the time being.

-Reportedly, Ginger played in several bands in Las Vegas before joining
Manson. No names are known, though. Anyone who can give me help with any
band that any Manson band member (past or present) was in should contact me.

-Rumors persist that there are 12" promos for Lunchbox and Get Your Gunn.
The existance hasn't been confirmed, but many people have claimed to have
seen them, so there's a good possibility it's true.

-Rumors have been flying about two supposed side projects involving Manson
and Twiggy back in Florida. The first, Mrs. Scabtree, first gained
notoriety when Mr. Manson made a presentation at the 1993 Slammies, and said
that Mrs. Scabtree's "Your Mother Fucks the Sausage" was a late entry.
Although it was probably just a joke, there have been rumblings that Mrs.
Scabtree did exist in some form. For now, it's just a RUMOR. Take it as
that until more info is dug up by someone. The second (even more
ridiculous) project is called Satan On Fire. Again, Manson spawned this
one. He claims that he and Twiggy would show up at gigs and play Christian
metal music with unintelligable lyrics until they were thrown off the stage.
He claims to have recorded some songs under this name and gotten them on the
radio, but I seriously doubt this is true, espically after seeing the names
of the songs (ex. "Herpes"). SOF has shown up on old SpookyKids fliers,
and was apparently a Christian band, but it's not believed that Manson
played any role in the band. Again, let me point out that these are
RUMORS. Do NOT take this info as fact.

-Manson doing a Skinny Puppy remix/cover? I'm told they'll have something
on a forthcoming SP tribute/remix album (no date known yet), but it's not
confirmed. (If it is confirmed, you'll know. Every industrial elitist in
the world will instantaneously soil their pants.)

-Some claim the band has already started work on the next album. Before you
say "But ACS was the end!", ask yourself what it truly signals the end of.
(If you say Christianity, I'll smack you.) The band has the right to make
more albums if they want. Time will tell if this rumor is true.

-J.G. Thirlwell (aka Foetus) is reportedly doing a Manson remix. It's
reported to be on a 12" of some sort first, then the ACS followup EP. We'll
see. (BTW, even if this isn't true, BUY FOETUS STUFF!!! Thirlwell kicks
major ass.)
