When I install Windows 98 it fails during the SCANDISK operation.
It complained that the computer does not have LBA which I correctly set
in the BIOS settings.
Then later on, near the 512K boundary on the Scandisk, it started to find Bad Sectors which I know aren't bad.
My belief is that this BIOS does not support a 1.6Gig Partition.
Is this belief correct?
DO I need to install "EZ-Bios" on the Harddrive before trying to Install
Windows 98?
If the BIOS is at fault, I would like to request that the BIOS be updated.
NOTE: EZ-Bios is what I call a low level driver installed on a boot partition
of the harddrive that allows computers that have old BIOS to work around the 512K boundary limit. This type of workaround is cumbersome and sometimes a real problem when trying to recover from harddrive failures. The best solution is always to upgrade the BIOS and eliminate the need for a driver.
