I saw this game and had a question about Larmer's short handed goal
from Graham. Graham shot in the puck from inside the Hawk's blue line
to inside the King's blue line. A moment later, Larmer entered the
King's zone, and picked up the puck. Since the puck entered the zone
before Larmer, it was onside in that respect. However, why doesn't the
two line offside rule apply here (the rule that prevents forward
passing across a blue line and a center line)? The puck crossed not just
two lines, but three! If Larmer had accepted the pass on just outside
the Kings blue line, would he still be onside? If so, why the difference?

The reason that Larmer was not offside is that he followed the puck across
the centre line and the LA blue line. Calling the offside pass at center
the two line offside is extremely poor terminalogy, since it is possible to
pass the puck across all five lines and have no offside. For the play to be
onside the player receiving the puck has to follow the puck across the
center line and the offensive blue line and beat out a possible icing call.
