I'll start the ball rolling with the ones I have:
#Thrustmaster Nascar Pro Wheels and Pedals
Simply the best set of affordable driving simulators!!! It completely
changed my view of PC racing games!!!!

#Thrustmaster Rage Pro
The best general-purpose gamepad!!! Sure it looks ugly, but it's really
comfortable, and works fantastic!!! Also has a on-the-fly switch for 2D to
3D conversion!!!

Would love to hear imputs of other controllers, especially these:
1. Thunder Seat & Rolling Thunder, both by Thunderseat Technologies
2. Cyberman 2 by Logitech
3. Powerramp by ACT Labs
4. Force-Feedback Controller by Microsoft
5. Flight-Sim controllers by anybody(haven't read up on any!!!=))

Thanx!

I'd like a new wehll (I have an old T2) but I'm not getting one until
someone gets on the ball and implements one with optical scaners to
overcome Win95 calibration jitters/problems.

>5. Flight-Sim controllers by anybody(haven't read up on any!!!=))

I like the Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro, because it's the first
and only joystick I've found that calibrates/works cleanly under
Win95.

R:

I buy in fours so I have to be a little thrifty.

Thrutmaster GP1 is the best by far cheap wheel. It's only cheap dollar
wise and their are many points one can argue it being better than any
other wheel on the market still. Couple points it doesn't require as
much space as a pedal system since throttle levers are behind the wheel.
Also your fingers are more dexterious than your foot and you can shave
the throttle better than with your foot...

Still like the Gravis Firebird 2 for an all purpose heavily modifiable
joystick. Works great with any game you would use a mouse or steering
wheel with. It's medium throw and good layour of programmable buttons at
a fiar price make this a good purchase.

Mouse by farrrrrr the Mouse Systems Scroll Mouse. Awesome. 5 Button
programmable mouse works great in Quake, Forsaken ect. This is a device
many many users are simply overlooking. Priced under $40. Highly
recommended.

Waiting off on Forece Feedback until the software really uses it well
and the prices drop.

Fou a mouse I really like the Logitech Mousman, especially when
combined with a 3M Precision Mousing Surface (you MUST get one of
these if you don't already have one, for ten bucks it makes ANY mouse
work smoother and more precisely).

I am waiting for Act Lab Force Feedback wheel. Hopefully it will feels as good
as those in arcade. The only reason I go to arcade now is the force feedback
and the big screen.

I agree 100% on the 5 button mouse systems "Proagio". its one of the industries
best kept secrets. most aren't even aware of its existance. there is one made by
"fellowes" that is almost identical except no push button function on the
scroller. uses the same drivers and all. 29.00 at wal-mart

I love my Logitech Mouseman+ with the scrolling function. Is the 3M
Precision Mousing Surface that good? Searched the web for it , doesn't look
too bad either(comes in 3 designs) Is it much better than a regular
mousepad??? Thanx!

I was talking about AFFORDABLE ones. Bah! Why don't get a full-sized F1
simulator for $65,000 while you're at it?

Your CDS5000 is well over $1000; my Thrustmaster Pro costs me $99. I think
I can live with it.

Oh yeah, it's sweet. Total precision. You can do single pixel
movements with no slippage, every time. Yet fast and smooth. It's made
out of some space-age material. Buy one, it's the best ten bucks
you'll ever spend on your computer.

Note: They are very thin, not thick like most mousepads, so you will
notice your hand is in a slightly different position at first.

Does the TECC calibrate any more smoothly than the T2? I can't seem to
get rid of the "Win95 calibration jitters" on mine, which affects
games that don't have an adjustable deadzone setting (that was one
thing CPR got right in their patch, the T2 worked fine in that game -
I wish Microsoft would add the deadzone setting to Win95 itself, so it
didn't have to be done game by game).

I agree, I think it's more practical for a wheel. I tried the MS FF
joystick in the comuter store today, it was hooked up to FPS Skiing (a
game I own and enjoy). It was bloody awful! It was like trying to play
the game while your younger brother randomly tries to wrestle the
joystick out of your hands (sending you flying off course). I just
couldn't believe what a crappy experience it was.

I got a Microsoft Precision Pro Force Feedback joystick for
Valentine's day. It can be an excellent joystick, if the games
support it well. I76 and SubCulture are the only two FF games
I've tried that do it any sort of justice. The joystick can be
programmed to do amazing effects like making it hard to keep
the joystick centered (one of my favourites). As a regular
joystick is only average with great programmability. Only
the buttons can be programmed (not the hat or axises), but
the programming can be done very easilier and during a game.
(Also centers like shit for non-Win95 games.)

>5. Flight-Sim controllers by anybody(haven't read up on any!!!=))

I also have a FCS (mark I) and WCS Mark II combo. Incredible
feel and flexibility. Everything can be programmed and in
many different ways. It's the target for programmable joysticks.
The FCS has amazing centering, easy and predictable movement.
I also have the ACM gamecard, which helps for Win95 games.

BTW, I'm a flight-sim person, not a racer. Racing real-life
is sooo much better than sims.

Be forewarned, by the time, you will replace the pots, springs, bungee
cord, you would have at least bought so many TM wheels. That you will
get sick of them..

Yes, you can switch axis around for the pedals.

I don't think that I'll be replacing it at all because of use, and
definitely not 10 wheels. Do you have your racing simulator strapped to
your garage door and crash-test it with you car everyday???=) The
Thrustmaster Nascar Pro is VERY sturdy, and its wide base and effective
clamps are better than the T1s and T2s.
And if I should replace it, it would be because somebody came up with a
better wheel with more features(like the force-feedback wheel by ACT Labs)
I would think that I'll get sick of a wheel that costs me over $1000,
because I know that I'll be stuck with it for a long long time since it's so
expensive. And technology is growing eveyday. More features can be built
into a wheel. With a $1000 wheel, I will not be able to enjoy that
technology since it'll be too expensive to replace it. It would be too
difficult to sell it off too, since nobody would want to pay more for older
technology when they can have the latest for much less.
And anyway, it's a wheel-and-pedal set, nothing extraordinary. I would
understand if you'd want to spend more on a full-sized simulator, 'cos it'll
be so freakin' cool!!!=) I wouldn't call $1000 affordable when compared to
most of the other wheel-and-pedal combos we have out there now. It's more
than 10 times as expensive, and I just find it pretty ridiculous. BTW,
while we're at it, exactly how much did you pay for the CDS5000???

Affordable? How much exactly did you pay for those? To answer your

person is "hiding" when they use pen-names???

Well, I have the MS-FFeedback Pro, and I can tell you, This thing ROCKS!
When I got it, it came with special versions of MDK, and I-76. Well, after
playing through the first episode of MDK, I had to buy the game! (It only
shipped with the first episode of MDK, I-76 was FULL ver.) So, I jolted
right down to BestBuy and got my copy of MDK and chunked that baby right in
my PII-266 only to find out that the Force Feedback didn't work out of the
box! Man, I tried to play anyway, but the effects of Force Feedback were so
good that I had to download a patch right away! The patch worked and all was
good with my world. Now, If someone would wright a patch for Quake2 I'd
proabably have to get surgically removed from the thing!

I know everyone says the Mouse/K-board is the only way to go in Q2, I beg to
differ. Names Frank_Rizzo, happy ta frag ya!
hehehe........
