Better a fool for Christ and to believe Jesus died for our sins, then to
adopt pagan beliefs of purgatory where people go to pay for their own
sins before they can go to heaven..

Revelation chapter 21, the second last chapter of the Bible, explains
things to us:
"And I John saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and
the first earth had passed away.
"And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: Now the dwelling
place of God is with men, and He shall live with them and be their
God.
Heaven is where God lives. When He recreates this Earth and restores
it to splendor, it will become His headquarters for his eternal
kingdom. Hence it will be the new heaven.

Not quite correct here. The "dead in Christ" remain dead until they
are resurrected by Jesus when He comes in glory. (see 1 Cor 15:51 and
1 Thess 5).
The wicked dead remain dead and are resurrected only at the end of the
1000-year millennium period (See Rev 20).
And there will be NO fighting in the holy city.

You've more or less got it right that only the "good people of god"
will live on the new earth. Those "good people of god", however, will
be from every nation on earth, and will include "Protestants, Jews,
catholics, Orthodox, Hindus, Pagans" etc. We know this because 2000
years ago, Jesus said "I have other sheep that are not of this
pasture."

which describe God's restoration of all things at the end of time.
