Here's info on the US 29 interchnages to be built:
(from
Maryland Department of Transportation
Consolidated Transportation Program
FY 2002-2007

)

They don't tell what kind of interchanges but I'd suspect that they'll be
diamonds or maybe parclos. Who knows they're may even be roundabouts in
these interchanges.

US 29 @ Randolph/Cherry Hill Road :

Final Engineering and Right-of-way underway. Construction of a detour road
around the
intersection to provide for future utility relocations is underway.

DAILY TRAFFIC : (USAGE IMPACTS)

PROJECTED (2025) -

According to the construction funding this project will be finished some
time in 2005

US 29 @ Briggs Chaney Road:

It sounds like Briggs Chaney will go over US 29.

year.

Construction to be finished in 2006. US 29 will be relocated to the east
from just south of MD 198 to just north of Dustin Road. A partial
interchange will be constructed at Dustin Road. Also it said:

Direct bus service ramps to and from the Burtonsville Park and Ride Lot will
be included.

And here are the four others:

Study to construct interchanges at Stewart Lane, Tech Road,
Musgrove/Fairland

Road, Greencastle Road and Blackburn Road.

Final engineering is underway and there is funding for ROW but not
construction.

And as for Howard county:

US 29 @ Johns Hopkins / Gorman Roads interchange:

DAILY TRAFFIC : (USAGE IMPACTS)

PROJECTED (2025) -

This is to be completed next year.
