I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to run Windows 95 on an HP Vectra
486-33U. At boot, the machine stops and says that the file vmm32.vxd is
missing or corrupt. I have deleted the file and reloaded Windows 95
many times. I still get the error message. However, if I boot to DOS 7
first, and then boot by typing "win," then Windows 95 comes up just
fine.

Any ideas?

TIA
