During the "Disk Partitioning" step of Linux Red Hat 8.0 installation,
it asks me how I would like to set my partitions. The choices I am
given are "Automatically Partition", "Manually Partition with Disk
Druid" or "Manually Partition with fdisk". I choose the first option.
When I do, the following Dialog box appears twice:

WARNING
The partition on /dev/hda is inconsistent. There are many reasons why
this might be the case. Often the reason is that Linux detected the
BIOS geometry incorrectly. However that does not appear to be that
case here. It is safe to ignore, but ignore may cause (fixable)
problems with some boot loaders, and may cause problems with FAT file
systems. Using LBA is recommended.
Ignore/Cancel?

I choose "Ignore" both times.

After making all the choices, I am asked if I am ready to install and
this is the final chance to turn back.
I tell it that I am satisfied with my choices and would like
installation to commence. As soon as I do that, the following Dialog
box appears after which the installation is halted:

What can I do? someone told me not to use Automatic Partitioning but
use the Disk Druid instead. Will that work?

It's worth a go - I got this message doing the install on a friends box with
a 40gb disk that had an overlay (old bios problems).

Manually partitioning with fdisk worked however, and its all ok :o)

One possibility is given in the warning message:
look in your BIOS and see if your drive is using LBA mode. If not, turn that
on. WARNING: i do not know if that will have an effect on in-place
partitions (i.e., if that will force you to repartition). Do so at your own
risk.

if you are trying to partition, i would allways choose fdisk.. I have seen
problems with druid in older versions..
