First, let me say that I take no pleasure in the events of today. Dave
Wannstedt tried his best. He is a good man who leaves this town wealthy beyond
the dreams of most people.

What makes me happy today is that we now have something we haven't had in 4
years: Hope. What makes me happy is that Mike McCaskey realized a mistake and
didn't let ego or money stand in the way. What makes me happy is that we have
now severed a significant link to one of the lowest points in the history of
the storied franchise.

This team can now move forward. The fans can move forward. Dave can move
forward. Perhaps Dave will go on to get another job. God knows if Coslet can
have 2 jobs (Jets and Cinci) then so can Dave. I doubt he will succeed as he
lacks the vision and the leadership skills to do so at this stage in his life.
I would love to be proved wrong.

To those of you who call us G.R.O.W.'ers bashers or fairweather fans, the fact
that we are still here instead of rooting for the Browns or Bucs or Steelers
proves how wrong that is. Time, along with 8-25 over the last 33 games, has
proven us right.

I will take one final shot. Dave Wannstedt leaves with an identical career
record as Rich Kotite. Good riddance.
