With all the flames and mud slinging has anyone gone to DD's page and checked
it out?I did and can't see much of anything to get to excited about. While there
be sure to check out the safety stuff on epoxy and fiberglass.

Dave once hosted John Cato's side of the story, a rather long work
called "the Cato Chronicles", on his site, though it has apparently
been removed. Dave also is considered by some to be the reason that
we lost an up & coming high power rocket manufacturer (MRED) a few
years ago (particularly its Microbrick Rockets, and Rocketflite Motors
divisions). There's also the matter of a custom V2 kit owed to many
people, but that gets way too confusing.

Therefore, there are a lot of people, from Bruce Kelly, to Doug Pratt,
to Michael Platt, to whoever, who don't want to be associated in any
way shape or form with Dangerous Dave.

My only contributions to the debacle was to be one of the three (with
Rob Demopoulos and David Hicks) who gave him the "Dangerous" moniker
on a Newnan, GA field in 1991 after a particularly harried flight of a
cluster of seven E15's, and to be the one who introduced him to Mike
Platt.

I've had exchanges with three of the four parties of Mr.Dead since it fell
apart. I still don't know who Energon was, othar than a composite motor
mfgr, but the destruction of MRED is hardly all on DDs part. It sounds like
everyone pretty much didn't get along with anyone else, although Mike Platt
seems to be in the middle of it. Personally, I would like to see DD back
manufacturing product, I liked dealing with Microbrick and their kits, and i
REALLY liked flying RocketFlite motors.

The only thing that could be worse for he hobby as far as a company goes
would be if Vern were to sell Estes Industries, and it ended up in the hands
of a bunch of bean counters who turned it into a disposable toy company.

I really liked those motors. The F50 Silverstreak was my first motor
larger than a D. I hit the button and was suddenly a 10 year old kid
again!

Come now, Bob! Don't even *think* of such an outlandish thing
happening. Scares me to pieces!

It's been taken down, Roy. Dave hosted it for several years with not a
dime transferred -- but it was getting to the point that I needed to
make it pay -- and I just didn't feel it necessary to continue for a
'monthly fee'. It might could resurface again in the future (maybe as a
.zip from a ftp site somewhere) -- but that is undetermined.

However, most all the 'installments' of the 53,54 <?> parts are still
available thru DejaNews (set date back to June 1996 and search under
"cato chronicles").

Don't overlook the situation of Dave still hosting Tripoli Founder (and
2nd President) Ed Tindell's little story about 'TRA, IRA and the FBI'
(or whatever name it is). There's a few 'digs' at the degeneration in
TRA (from the standpoint of what it started out as). I'm sure that's
enough to get it 'black-listed' by the Central Committee.
