Noteworthy Music -- Ordering CD's by Computer!

Hi folks.
I recently posted a note on misc.consumers detailing a really cool new cool
computer-modem CD ordering system through CD Mail Order company "Noteworthy
Music." Here are some more details.
WHAT IS ROEG?
Embarrasingly enough, I forget what the acronym stands for, but it's actually
a special ordering system that allows you to browse among thousands of titles
of CD's, and then place a short phone call via modem to order any that you
want using a credit card. The system software was written, and is maintained
by Noteworthy Music in New Hampshire.
WHAT IS NOTEWORTHY MUSIC?
It's a rather established, reliable mail order company specializing in cheap
prices for relatively common CD's. Their selection is great, but not
incredible (better than your local store's, and better than BMG or Columbia
House, but not as good as CD Direct Company). CD prices range from $4.98 to
$14 (plus shipping), and generally hover around $9-10 a piece. There is no
minimum or maximum order limit. Shipping is as inexpensive as $3.00 for
slower delivery, $6 for fed ex overnight of up to ten items.
WHAT EQUIPMENT IS NEEDED TO RUN ROEG?
Any IBM PC equipped with a hard drive with 8 Megs free (the database is stored
on your harddrive). No Mac version is available. An IBM 386 is recommended,
as is a memory manager such as QEMM, however, if you don't care about speed,
you technically CAN run ROEG on an XT (but be prepared to take coffee breaks
in between long searches).
HOW CAN ONE GET THE SOFTWARE?
I've included a waiver and registration form in this posting. You'll need to
clip out the registration part using a computer text editor, and fill in the
appropriate info to replace my notes within [brackets]. The $5 disk /
shipping fee is refunded with with your first order.
WHAT DOES ADAM GAIN FROM ALL OF THIS?
Though I wish I got commissions from this <grin>, I don't. Period. I'm just
providing a service to the net, just like so many other cool people have done
for me in the past. We giveth and taketh, and that's what keeps the net
vibrant and worthwhile.

Please carefully read the following Software License Agreement (the "Agreement")
before returning this user registration form. By returning this form to
Noteworthy Music, Inc. (the "company"), you acknowledge your acceptance of these
terms and conditions and agree to abide by them. If you do not accept the terms
of this Agreement, do not return this form.
The ROEG computer software, all copies, and all updates (the "Software") are
owned by the Company and are protected by United States copyright laws. You
agree to treat the Software like any other copyrighted material. You understand
you are a licensee and not an owner of the Software, including copies of the
Software. This license and your right to use the Software terminate
automatically if you violate and part of this Agreement. The provisions of this
Agreement relating to the Company's proprietary rights shall survive the
termination of this Agreement. If the event of termination, you must
immediately destroy all copies of the Software or return them to the Company.
The Company grants you a royalty free, non-exclusive and transferable License to
Use the Software on a single computer only; and
Make copies of the Software and distribute or transfer such copies
without cost for free to others, provided the Company's copyright
and other proprietary notices are contained in all such copies.
You May Not
Modify, adapt, translate or merge the Software in any way;
Reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile or make any attempt to
discover the source code of the Software, or create any derivative
works from the Software; or
Sublicense, rent, sell, network or lease any portion of the Software.
THE COMPANY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO
THE SOFTWARE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING
WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF
INFORMATION OR OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS) ARISING FROM THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE, EVEN
IF THE COMPANY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
This Agreement, governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire,
constitutes the entire agreement between you and the Company and
supersedes any prior agreements.
