I wonder why KGO thought that we should be subjected to an
hour simocast of this interview? Was it a paid Sony commercial?
Does ABC own Sony stock? The following Channel 7 news featured
Jackson and his wife as the most important news of the day.

Gross commercialism at its worst. I wonder if anyone over
14 actually likes this weird whatever. He was stupid enough to
admit that he still sleeps with young boys and they follow him
into the bathroom.

Sabu,

You may not have liked it, but the vast majority of the Bay Area did. You
should have seen the ratings this morning. That show absolutely killed
every other piece of broadcasting in the market. And that, my friend, is
the name of the game.

I'm no fan of MJ ( Jackson, not Jordan) but I heard nationwide it got
30 million tuning in. almost whatever it is, if it gets viewers, they'll
run it to the ground. Two finales of Cheers. OJ Trail.

Now that's real mature of you. ;)

The man (no sny remarks about that comment please) makes music. I don't
know Michael Jackson, so I don't have the chance to "like" _him._ However
I do "like" his music. He is a wonderful, fantastic musician and entertainer.

I've found that some of the best pieces of advice in life are hokey:

Don't judge a man unless you've walked in his shoes.

You don't know him, you don't know what he did, hew got the press only
because people in the U.S. wanted to see it. Do you really think it's
some conspiracy by Michaels people to do this? Supply and demand my
friend, supply and demand.

Any body catch what channel four open their news with? Since the news
on channel seven turned into an outlet for Sony Muisc that night, I
was wondering what channel four covered instead of the Jackson
lovefest...

Gosh, was he interviewed again? Silly me, I miss all the gossip when I
choose to listen to NPR, read the NY Times, and watch Usenet scrolling
across my screen. Why was he interviewed? Is someone suing him or
something?

"miss all the gossip"? Hardly. NPR is as much a media whore as any
for-profit venture. Recall Greg Louganis? They didn't consider him
newsworthy through the gold medal runs, but they were more than happy
to oblige him on his book tour: Fresh Air, Morning Edition, and All Things
Considered, all within a two-week period. Just after the book hit the
stores, of course.

>Why was he interviewed? Is someone suing him or something?

They found his blood DNA profile parallels OJ's with respect to that
found at the murder scene.

Percentage of respondents wanting reduced funding for
Public Broadcasting in the LA Times January poll: *63*
Percentage in the Opinion Research Corp January poll: *13*

The Opinion Research poll was performed for and funded by PBS. Surprised?

True. I was being facetious there. Even NPR mentions the O.J. trial.
The only way to get away from it completely is to listen only to the BBC
where the U.J. trial is such a non-issue that the next thing you hear
about it will be a 1-paragraph story about the verdict...if there ever is
one.

It *would* be interesting for a change to hear an interview with someone
purely for the informational content, with no ulterior motive. I wonder
if that's still possible in a capitalistic society. Everybody wants
compensation for everything, it seems.
