MS Ergonomic Keyboard fails on DPWS or XP1000 ?

Hi there,

we have Digital/Compaq Personal Workstation
and XP1000's running OSF4.0.

Attaching a "Microsoft Natural Keyboard(elite)"
to the machine simply freezes the XDec Server,
and they're not recognized during system boot
(the message on the console being sth. like "kbd test 4 failed")

The keyboard worked on an older "Digital AlphaStation",
so it seems to be an issue with the new hardware.

Question: Are there any known issues or incompatibilities,
do we have to check tweak SRM or check versions
or something like that ?

The only reference to the keyboard found on Compaq.com
was the manpage of xkbdfltmap(1X), but that didn't help me out.
