#1--What is the quality like on the Takara Henshin Cyborg?
#2--How well is it articulated?
#3--Which figure is the most collectible?(or more in demand?)-Silver A,
Silver B, Gold A, Gold B, Smoke Silver A or Smoke Silver B?
Any comments concerning this figure will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary
I have an original Cyborg and the body style is just the same as Joe.
Mine is clear. I also have an Ultra 7 uniform and a pilot jumpsuit
for him.
$50 sounds like a good price.

1. Quality is excellent! They come with a battery inside and you push a button
and the chest lights up red. Kinda cool.
2. Awesome articulation. Way more than Joe and the best thing is that it stays
in those positions very easily!
3. I've got a couple of them, but I don't know the answer to which one is more
desirable. One I have came with a special convention smoked head that you can
put on it. The head was suppose to only be available at the convention. At
least that is what I was told.
In the coolness factor, Takara brought out their Alien Invader line of those
which are quite unique looking.
The new HC figures look pretty good, but the vintage Henshin Cyborg figures and
sets, are still the best. I am by the way which I am looking for more vintage
figures and will trade for them!

The Neo HC figure is extremely well articulated. The neck turns side to
side and swivel up and down. The shoulders are ball joints that pivot up
side ways as well as to the front and back. It has a single elbow joint
and also a swivelling bicep joint and the wrists turn as well as move up
and down. The waist turns as well as allow the torso to bend forward and
back. The hip joints, like the shoulders, pivot up side ways as well as to
the front and back. The knees are double jointed to allow the leg to fold
into itself and the ankles turn as well as pivot up and down. A total of
28 points of articulation. It is actually an extremely well made figure. I
highly recommend it if you're into japanese cyberpunk sci-fi toys.
As for the question of collectibility, hmmmm, its difficult to say. So far
there is no one version that people are paying big money for as the toy is
still in production. Takara themselves have produced so called "limited"
editions for shows as well as for specific toy retailers. Obviously those
that were produced in very limited numbers for the shows are going to be
difficult to find. The toy retailer specials I was told are not limited to
a specific number. I myself personally would bet that the original Guy
Shishioh is going to be collectible as well as those that have colors
similar to the original 72 HC; ie the silver and the gold. I also
personally prefer the silver and gold versions as they look coolest! BTW
there are rumors that a completely new body for the 1999 Neo HC is going
to appear and Takara will also be making a Waldar version!
If you want to know more about the original Henshin Cyborg and how it came
about, go to http://www.micropola.com. Its history is very interesting as
it has ties to the original GI Joe, the Japanese Combat Joe, Micronauts
and even the Transformers! I think every Joe collector should go read this
very interesting bit of related toy history. If you are interested to know
more about the Neo HC, there are pictures of some of the figures from the
Neo Henshin Cyborg range at the website http://www.robotcity.com/cyborg/
