I had an epic ride this weekend on several counts. All small victories and
a weirdism, but all stacked up to be a good ride.

First - I found the elusive trails that link my local riding area to one
that a friend has direct access too. We've been trying to find the link for
two years! Damn good riding over there - now I can hit the good stuff and
still not have to trailer and/or road ride!

Next - I rode my first real constant-speed balanced wheelie! I was riding
with a couple of friends on quads, and decided to go for a pass. As I was
coming up on my vicim, I figured it would be more impressive to pass him in
a wheelie. Silently thinking, "Watch this" to myself, I yanked up the front
end and started to pass. All of the sudden, I dropped into "the zone" and
found myself riding a perfect 15MPH constant-speed balanced wheelie. After
about 100-150 ft. on the back wheel, I got nervous and set it down (I
panicked - figured something was bound to happen that would cause me to wad
if I didn't get back on two wheels!).

Last - I hit a couch. No, really. I was riding in the area that I finally
figured out how to link to with a couple of guys on quads. I was tackling a
hill climb and hit a 2' flat-faced rock near the top - sort of like a
mini-cliff climb. I got out of shape coming off of the rock and veered off
of the trail a bit, just a foot or so into the weeds. I was right at the
top of the climb so I stayed on the gas. I crashed through the weeds for a
few feet, got my bearings and was just about to swerve back onto the trail
when <CRASH>. I hit a couch. Obstructed by the trailside tall grass /
brush, there was a full sized couch that someone had dumped next to the
trail - I hit it WFO in second. Luckily it was a cheap couch and it went
flying instead of me! I blasted it out of the way and remained biff-free
for the day!
