Dogs can be told *not* to go somewhere. If trained properly, they will
stay out of whatever place. Cats go where they want no matter what you
want them to do.
Dogs are very sensitive to traffic dangers. Many, many dogs in urban
areas learn "road sense" in that they'l check both ways before crossing
a road, in an almost human manner. (I've personally seen many dogs doing
this.) If a car is coming, it will wait until it passes. Cats on the
other hand tend to simply walk out in front of things. Then if you stamp
on the brakes and screech to a halt the damn thing looks at you like
"what the fuck do you think you're doing being here?".
Dogs are loyal. Cats blow with the wind.
Try getting a cat to sit/beg.
I think there's conclusive proof here that dogs are more intelligent
than cats.

No, it proves cats are too intelligent to be bossed around by stupid
people. The reason dogs are more obedient is that they are inherently pack
animals, and they see their master as head of that pack. It's simple,
infact the reason dogs like to obey orders and be so loyal is that they
don't *like* to think. They like *others* to think and make decisions for
them.
Cats are different however, a cat may see you as "boss cat" but because of
their social structuring they will occasionally test your ability to be the
boss. Among cats themselves this sometimes leads to short, non-deadly
combat to determine such things. Cats are almost feudal in nature, creating
complex relationships and territorial rules. These are always under
revision however and may be changed at will by the boss cat, who may be
challenged for status however. In short, cats have a complex society which
is hard to fit humans into, sometimes we get put into a "boss cat" status,
while others we may be considered equals or even be classed as owned
objects. Dispite common belief, once cats have figured out the structure of
their relationship, they can be quite friendly, even loving to equals,
superiors, and beings of lesser status.
Cats have a more complex social structure then dogs, which suggests high
intelligence. Cats furthermore are *far* more curious about the world then
dogs, and curiosity is a strong indicator of intelligence.

You are wrong Weyoun. Right now, outside this very house I am sitting in is
a complex society made up of your common domestic housecat (somewhere
around 15 or so). Usually considered solitary they actually can and will
form complex tribal structures with feudatory leadership and territorial
structures. The way it is here, for most matters "Big Momma" (the matriarch
of the local cats) is in charge, however her son (named Saddam because of
his badass attitude, and his always cocked ear that almost looks like a
beret) is in charge of territorial matters and is generally "lord of the
manor" (so to speak, similar structure anyway). "Momma" settles minor
disputes, mostly among her kids (letting them handle their own children)
while "Saddam" kicks ass when wild males get out of line. These are hardly
solitary creatures. Even inside there are 6 cats, most of whom get along
and will often sleep cuddled up together.

Not the (supposedly) "domesticated" species. I can tell you right now, I
know because they are living right outside here. I see them and interact
with them every day. And many species of wild cats are similar too, while
many are or can be solitary, many can also form social groupings. Now it's
true that a few species don't form such groupings at *all* most *can.*

Hardly, without them human food supply would be alot lower, due to rodent
infestation. There would be alot more famine in the world if not for cats.
Which is why the Egyptians worshipped cats as gifts from the gods, and

Lone males aren't usually the ones out hunting. Since we are talking about

female hunters. You might take one, but you'd miss the 3 or 4 sneaking up

So cats haven't been selectively breed to be slaves, and certainly not for
as long as dogs, so what. That's all dogs usually are, simple slaves for
humans.

20 pounds of "pure muscle" versus a 65 pound or higher dog. The dog has no
qualms about biting or throwing the cat up against the wall while you would.
Thus, the dog would win.

I've been bitten by cats and dogs. I've only got one scar from a cat bite
and that's because Beauty bit my nose.
Now on my rear I have several scars from my sister Chow biting me while I
was fighting with Phoenix. On my thighs I have scars from getting caught

my arm (Not noticeable.). My sister's damn dog did all of those except for
when they were fighting.
Plus several *love* nips from my wonderful but deceased dog on my legs. She
used to bite my legs when she though I was doing something bad (Generally I
was, too) and when she'd sleep with me, she would nip me when I'd take up

Of course, but since Transcend has troubles keeping his cats from doing

It's also recommended for nearly widl farm cats that don't like people.

When I have to give Bonnie and Steven a bath, I put on a flannel

Depends on the dog, and depends on the cat. Every one of my cats I have
*ever* had was born in the wild, and certainly show the traits of it. They
have all been extremely wild, and dangerous to handle if you don't know
what you are doing (sometimes even if you do). I am not talking about fat,
lazy housecats here. One of my previous cats (who died very suddenly at a
young age, sad really) probably had alittle bobcat in him, meanest SOB

They sedate the cats while the operation and their paws are sensitive for a
while, but after a week or so they don't feel anything.
As for mentally scarring, all the cats I know just go about with life as
though they were still there.
It won't be very humane when if I have to get rid of the damn cat for
scratching up everything in site, either.

I'm not talking about housecats either. Only Beauty was a housecat (Born in
the house and raised there.), but all of our cats were strays we picked up
from the street, took to the vet, and tamed. Most of the time, we don't even
get them before they were six months old.

African Hunting Dog, Hyena's, Wolves, Bearhounds all employ hunting tactics
involving Herding and ambushes. They will then employ hit and fade against
thjreats in a constant round robin designed to wear an intruder/threat down
without tiring themselves out.

Yes I often got my dogs to pour me drinks, run me baths and do the
housework. Idiot! They are there as companions and to act as combination
guards/hunters if necessary. Cats however are there to do whatever they
want. Only weak-willed morons would tolerate a cat as their only pet,
because they don't mind being domineered by an animal.

1. Egyptians revered both dogs and cats.
2. The cats were cuaght and reared to deal with the rodent infestations,
they did not decide to aid humanity they were bred to do the job.
3. You obviously don't know your history, when man domesticated a creature
to aid in his hunts in prehistory he chose the dog. So to achieve the move
to civilisation in the first place man used the dog not the cat.
4. The date of this famine you keep refering to please.

If it were a real attack dog (properly trained) it would ignore your arm
and go for the top of the leg and the Femoral artery. If you are attacked,
turn side on. It will still bite your leg but it will only get the Quads
and Tri's. It will lock on (this will be painful but it will totally ignore
your arms anyway). Grasp it's windpipe firmly and twist. Keep twisting
until the animal is unconscious or dead. If you have a firearm use that
before being bitten. NEVER punch an attack dog (trained) on the nose. It
will only make it more viscious. Use pepper spray if you have it.
If they are a normal dog take off your jacket, twist it quickly and then
flap that around near the dog. It will grab this and start biting it (much
better than your arm - padding or not). The next bit is complicated to
write down but easy to demonstrate. With your twisted up jacket in it's
mouth, you move towards the animal pushing forwards with the coat. Drawing
next to the dog, you pull the coat so that the dogs head is held back by
the coat against it's upper jaw. Swap hands (if you are on the rightside of
the dog you should have started with the coat in your right hand) and use
that hand to push the dog down whilst resting your knees on it's upper body
to hold it in place. Use your free hand to grasp the exposed windpipe,
render the dog unconscious and then secure it's muzzle and legs with your
coat. Now get the owner and beat him to death.
NOTE : Don't just read this and think you can do it. You need to have it
demonstrated to fully understand it and the speed required to make it work
properly. If practiced this will work against any dog (except those trained
to go for the legs) and is safer to the person and the animal than other
techniques.
Compare that with how to deal with a cat if it attacks you. Kick it until
it gives up or stops moving.

Yes, Of course it would. I mean your detailing of why that would be so is
just too convincing for us to refute ........ Oh wait you gave none, just
your assertion that Transcend is invincible when faced with Attack dogs or
even an ordinary dog which decides to bite him. Ever faced an animal that
wanted to kill you Transcend (and no I don't mean your cats when they have
a hissing fit)? It can make you very, very unsure of yourself, having some
form of training helps, but not as much as you think. You can just try to
come out alive and hope that you never get attacked again.

Um, Transcend I don't quite think you have got the use of "Weyoun" sorted

I don't know the exact date, but there is an Egyptian story about how the
cats came to be worshipped as a gift from the gods. Egypt had plenty of
grain from it's harvests, more then enough to feed it's people.
Unfortunately a massive infestation of rats were eating most of the stored
grain. The people were beginning to starve as there wasn't enough left to
feed them. Suddenly one day, out of the desert, came a large group of cats.
These began to feast on the rats. The Egyptians tried to befriend these
cats, but most were too scared and ran away. A few stayed behind and were
pampered by the Egyptians, even to the point of having temples built for
them to live in and slaves of their own to care for them. These cats were
the first known domesticated cats. Story takes place around 5000 years ago
(give or take).

Most people don't let animals rule their lives and they don't go out of the
way to appease the creature. If a cat was scratching up furniture and
people, it'd be declawed quickly or gotten rid of.
He likes to be domineered by cats, I think you all have a moral obligation to
get him into some kind of special care.

sheer numbers of truely social animals), congratulations on admitting you

This is one of the great mythes of Africa, Hyena's and African Hunting dog
packs regularly steal kills from Lions and have never been shown to be
beaten by lions when confronted in similar numbers. However they have been
shown to drive away Lion Prides (even very hungry ones) and claim the meal
for themselves. Do you actually do *any* research before you post or do you
simply use popular "facts" and half-remembered anecdotes?

You idiot, thats the story of Joseph from the bible.
The famines in Egypt have *ALL* been identified as being caused by Droughts
in the preceding years. Infact the most famous of these, as recorded by
Ptolemy V, had a famine that lasted 7 years that matched a drought of the
same period and the people of the time could make the connection
themselves. It had nothing to do with cats. Try to present some documented
evidence of your arguement in future, the researeching of it would quite
quickly show up the embarressing errors before you posted them.

You dare doubt the word of Jane, queen of the cats! Don't you realise that
through her years of intensive study she has learned to communicate with
cats and they have told her many things; the secrets of eternal youth, the
ways to massive riches and personal growth and the pain of being declawed.

But they are all he has, so what if they ignore him, excepting when they
need a servant to clean up after them and feed them. Considering he lets
them treat him like shit, you have to wonder why he complains to us for
