Isn't the birthday of Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page
coming up soon? Does anyone know which day it is?
Also doesn't John Paul Jones have his birthday around
the same time?

Regarding Jimmy Page, Zephyr shows:

Name: Page, Jimmy
Date: 09 Jan 1944
Time: 4:17 AM
Std: -1
Zone: GMT
Place: Heston, Middlesex, England
Long: 0W22
Lat: 51N29
Category: Musician
Source: 'Net/_Jimmy Page: Tangents Within a Framework

That's James Patrick Page. Apparently, Page's alleged
time of birth was listed on this now-defunct webpage:

http://dusty.doit.wisc.edu/humor/music/Zeppelin.html

I guess you'd have to look at Tangents Within a Framework
to know for sure how authoritative this reference is. It
could be a direct quote from his birth certificate, but
could also be some chart rectification by an astrologer.
If the time is correct, Venus transits the east point,
Neptune aloft. I'll see if I can find his exact address
of birth, and post his astronomically-accurate horoscope.

A time that accurate sounds like it came directly from
a birth certificate. I'd assume it is probably correct

English birth certificates only show the *time* of birth if twins are born,
otherwise it's up to the parents to note the time.

This is a real bummer for English astrologers !

I was never ever censored on Zeppinhood, even though I am definitely not the
type of person to keep it quiet when I disagree with someone (pretty long
thread for Zep and Islam, for instance). Wilburn had some problems at first
with his posts deleted, but the gatekeepers responsible for this were given
a serious warning, and his posts were restored (FYI, they would certainly
have had their GK powers taken back if they had continued)
Furthermore, as far as moderation, the ONLY thing that is an absolute no-no
is personal attack, which I think is normal. If one attacks another for his
ideas, the former is nothing more than a coward and an idiot. It's easy to
attack someone, but much more difficult to attack an idea. The whole concept
over there (besides the separate rooms) is "If you disagree with someone,
attack the idea, not the person". Last thing: as far as cussing, it is now
allowed, unless it's WAY unnecessary.

Honestly, I think the main problem for some people over there is not the
moderation in itself (that is, how it is applied), but rather the fact that
it is moderated. I can understand that some people (who may be very nice and
would not abuse the ng, such as you two) don't like the idea of moderation
(for all the bs it can lead to, I guess). Then I may be wrong, that's just a
feeling, but I feel I ain't far from the truth.

Peace and Love,
Sam

completely against my principles. Not being censored for swear words,
but being censored for any reason whatsoever.

the other thing is, really, I dont care about Led Zeppelin that much.
Not enough to join a moderated group. I like talking about all kinds
of different things, and i like the freedom of being able to express
myslef in any damn way I please. I found when I was over there, quite
a few of the conversations were obsessive, and insular. I just dont
care about Led Zep trivia. Its boring. Give me the music and the
noise.

things may be different now, but the last time i went over to
zeppenhood, you were a lot more likely to get an answer to the
question "what color were robert plant's underpants on june 7, 1975"
than "can anybody tell me when Jonesy stopped using the Acoustic
amps". My point is, yes I have one, I'm a helluva lot more likely to
have the kinds of technical music oriented conversatiosn, with people
that actually know what the hell they are talking about, over here,
than over there.

it might be different now. I dont know.

>Furthermore, as far as moderation, the ONLY thing that is an absolute no-no

see, thats another problem. i think quite often, personal attacks are
warranted, and healthy. especially when you are dealing with liars and
posers who are giving out false information.

you might be right. what can I say. I'm happy here. If those folks are
happy over there, great. live and let live. Part of me wonders if
Hecht is sending out these scare-tactic emails "you may get threatened
or have your identity stolen" or whatever it was, purely out of spite.

speculation, again, but somehow, that seems more self-serving, the way
it was worded. He was always nice to me. That really surprised me, to
read that thing.

Huh, can you?

What about identity theft? Someone (aka Cunt The Pirate) posted for
weeks as "wilburn" and I didn't see Hecht The Hypocrite throwing that
forger off.

Is there a "good word, bad word" dictionary one can purchase?

For instance, "tits, balls, and ass" were all fine now "fuck" is OK,
huh?

How about "Bloody Red Kotex"; good or bad?
How about "vaginal cum slime", good or bad?

What a joke censorship always becomes.

Pardon? I have never heard of that. How did she post as you since the
signing process asks for e-mail adress and that the access is
password-protected? Do you mean "wilburn" was her on ZH?

> Is there a "good word, bad word" dictionary one can purchase?

Yes, normally, in your dictinnary, there should be written vulg. or
something like that in front of vulgar words.

> For instance, "tits, balls, and ass" were all fine now "fuck" is OK,

>
> How about "Bloody Red Kotex"; good or bad?

The key-point is that it should not personnally attack someone. If you say,
for instance, that fuckin' cut in my department prevents us from getting
better servers, that's allright. Don't go too vulgar though if it's not
necessary. As far as necessity, use your judgement. And if you get one
postdeleted, weel it happens and you can always talk about it if you feel it
was too hard.

Or subterfuge their "friends" like Tyre on amlz by directing traffic,

Well, I do like Tyre very much, but I don't think I know her well enough to

As far as "directing" people to the hood, as I stated before, my goal was
not to empty amlz, but to give them the opportunity to use both ngs. I
admitted you were right on the fact that my posts could easily be
interpreted the wrong way, and I stopped. And I did apologize too.

Don't count on it, Benedict Sammy. Not until you stop acting like a

Fine. email them offline or let Hecht run his own advertising
department without making you look like a two-faced buttsniffer.

not necessarily. other trolls are guilty of other "crimes", like
endless spamming.. some "trolls" dont attack other people, they merely
play devils advocate all day long.

i'll say it again... sometimes personal attacks are warranted.

This wouldn't be a troll in my book, but a spammer. that's different. A
spammer won't even read the ng, just post his/her useless crap usually to
get paid.

There are different types of trolls. They will flood NGs or they will
create false identities ( yeah, ok Howldog, you can say "Harry B. Wilder
LOL ) Trolls can also be flamers though I've met people who admit to
being a flamer but they disagree to being a troll.. Also people disagree
about who is a troll or what is a troll. Sometimes what we call "trolls"
( using the term "troll" as a generic catchall for any misbehaviour on
Usenet ) are actually stalkers or kooks. A person who duplicates
another's email addy or tries to falsely represent themselves as another
( usually to make the other persn appear to be a kook ) is usually known
as a clone though they can also be a stalker.
wilburn appears to be a kook, sort of. But I ran across the posts of a
REAL nutcase kook recently while lurking at a MSNTV NG --- this guy
makes wilburn look like Mr. Congeniality ( which wilburn is not ). No, I
DID NOT post when I read the posts of this guy. He seemed to be
affiliated w/ some sort of CI ( Christian Identity ) church in the South
( says it all right there, doesn't it? ). He had posted some weird
"prayer" asking God to destroy Hollywood. Then he posted something about
some preacher who had a sermon on women having no souls ( a VERY old
tired Dark Ages heresy ) --- and he referred to Eve as a Harlot
responsible for the sins of the world ( evidently not his, however, as
he seems to think he is sinless ). So yeah, there are some really
strange birds out there --- even ( AMAZING BUT TRUE ) stranger than
wilburn.

Big legged women.. that's an old blues song phrase Pagey lifted. Btw,
when I was younger I wasn't a "big legged woman" ( my legs are still
pretty nice and not "big" by any means ) one of those waif skinny legged
girls. LOVED it when Twiggy came out. You know like that song "Who'll
Take The Girl W/ The Skinny Legs?" I used to HATE that song LOL.
However, that "Soul of a woman was created below" Mr. Snide ( and I'm
NOT referring t the Delectable Mr. Muffinsnide ) sang that to me on
Shrader Street in San Francisco. He said he wrote it for me. He was
probably joking ( not that it matters one way or the other ). I was NOT
amused.

yup, plus it's also a variant on a marching/double timing song we sang in the
army. Except we sang about eskimo women...

have you seen her lately? Happened to catch her on "Ab Fab" (can't stand it,

I think Ab Fab is the funniest thing on TV. Or was. Oh well.

You sure that was Twiggy? I know they had Marianne Faithful play God

The newest ABFab, on Monday night, at 9 EST on Comedy channel, Edina represents
Twiggy and convinces her that gay men worship her.

The new season is just as hilarious
as the old ones, which I have memorized.
I loved Ms. Faithful, who played a chain-smoking bitchin' God, in the Last
Shout.

Edina: It's true sweetie, I really DID see GOD!
Saffron: What did you talk about?
Edina: Mostly shopping....

Yea sweetie darling. The season premier was cute. Saffie writes a play about
her life and it utilizes some of the classic moments. These are all new, and I
believe we're being offered them at the same time as the English T.V., since
AbFab became so huge here. They're on at 9:00 EST, 8:00 CST, on Comedy Central.
