I have to take McCarver's side on this one.
Sure, dump a bucket of water on him if you want, but to come back
*three* times to *throw* a bucket of water on a guy? Too much.

Imagine for a second that it was Leslie Visser instead of McCarver.
Mr. Sanders would be accused of harrassment.

Personally I was waiting on somebody to hit McCarver upside the head with a
champagne bottle. That woul have served him well. THis guy has to be
the worst announcer in the History of pro- baseball. He knows very little
outside of the NL West and he shows it every time he opens hi mouth

YEAH Deion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One more example showing that you should not drink and post.

Here's one Canadian that is looking forward to a hard-fought
World Series featuring the two best teams in baseball today.

GO JAYS!!! :-)

Being morally superior *can't* be an edge in the world series. Otherwise
there would be no champions from New York.

What does moral superiority have to do with the ability to hit a fastball?
The race does not always go to the swiftest, but I'd bet on him before
I bet on the pure-of-heart.

You have presented excellent reasons why someone should be hit in the

head with a champagne bottle.

Inter-Office Memo, CBS Television

TO: Head, CBS Sports

FROM: President, CBS Television

SUBJECT: Tim McCarver vs. Deion Sanders
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

In keeping with the CBS Sports tradition of hiring over the hill
catchers for its TV broadcasts, I think that you should investigate
the possibility of hiring Ed Ott, currently a coach with the Houston
Astros, as a color commentator for the current World Series and any
future League Championship and World Series broadcasts by CBS Sports.

I don't know what Mr. Ott's qualifications are, but by being an ex-
catcher, he should be as qualified as his peers; Garagiola, McCarver,
Uecker, etc.

Where Mr. Ott should excel is in the post-game interviews. Could you
imagine Mr. Ott's reaction if some immature, whiny, pseudo two-sport
athlete threw a bucket (or several buckets) of ice cold water on him,
while he (Mr. Ott) was conducting an interview on live television?

I believe that Mr. Ott has a record of sorts in on-field altercations
in the past; I believe that he "body slammed" the Mets Felix Milan in
the 1970's and used a "sleeper choke hold" on Rob Dibble of the Reds
this past summer.

And I believe that he was a high school wrestling champion in Central
Pennsylvania in the 1960's (Get research on this ASAP!).

Frankly, CBS Sports baseball ratings have sucked, but I believe that
the fans would tune in to see the post-game interviews conducted by
Mr. Ott. We may even be able to sell the interviews on a "pay-per view"
basis, comparable to HBO's boxing.

We could bill it as "Prime Time Wrestling" and Mr. Sanders could become
the worlds first three-sport athlete.

At least for a minute or two.

Get to work and see if you can get Mr. Ott to Toronto for this evenings
game.

Wow! Talk about your "tenuous grip on reality".

I smell a Braves fan trying the "reverse psychology" approach to woofing...
(seemed to have worked for game #1).

Otherwise this guy should get some therapy... quick!

McCarver was wired at the time. Are you an idiot or what?

If you don't like McCarver, fine. But your opinion of McCarver has
nothing to do with the incident of Deion dumping several buckets of

is acceptable tells us all something about you....
