check out this book! does anyone know the author or if he has more?

I was at my buddy's house the other day, and I saw this sci-fi book,
THE VAST, sitting on his coffee table. I didn't recognize the author's
name, which is odd to me because I am an avid sci-fi reader. My friend
said it was a pretty decent book, so I picked it up and read a bit. I
wasn't expecting much, because I had never heard of the author, but
just a chapter or so into it I knew I had to have this book! Turns out
it has to be ordered, so I borrowed my friend's copy, but still
ordered one for my own collection.
The writer has an amazing grasp on the technical side of sci-fi, and
it almost sounds as if you're IN the head of the main character. The
story is about a guy getting cryogenically(sp?) frozen and launched
into deep space on the chance that an alien race will find and be able
to revive him. A pretty fresh base plot in itself, but then this guy
adds a cool WWIII undertone, complete with spies and stuff. I really
have to say I am glad I stumbled across this book.
So blabbering aside, my question is: Does anyone know WHO this guy is
and if he has any more books out there? I literally couldn't put THE
VAST down, and I am dying for more!

And if you're a sci fi fan or just like to read in general, I urge you
to get this book! It's one of the freshest stories I've seen in a
while (and I read a LOT).
I am pretty sure it has to be ordered, because the guy's a newer
author, but I got mine from

take you there. It's only like 12 bucks or so, and it's well worth it,
IMHO.
