It's not entirely out of the question that this *is* Tavish,
although it does seem a bit unlikely. The reason I say this is that
there's been another 'anonymous' posting with his address in it,
this one wasn't claimed by nazihunter. Nazihunter is usually pretty
upfront about who posted the information, so I have my doubts.
Tavish's address ia probably a matter of public record, as a result
of Yale's law suit, so perhaps he thinks he hasn't anything to lose
and something to gain. I can exactly see what. It would've been
better to try to point the finger at Yale, rather than at
nazihunter, if he wanted fodder for the lawsuit.
But, Tavish been posting 'forgeries' of his own posts and then
complaining loudly about it to the news group, even going so far as
to claim that he can tell the forgeries because the 'digitally
signatures' don't match the posts. I've asked him to tell us the
method he's using to 'sign' the posts but he has yet to comply. The
convention, when creating a 'digest' of a message, is to announce
the digesting algorithm (e.g. MD5), so that anyone that receives the
message can validate it using the digesting function. I believe that
he is lying about digitally signing the messages.
Given that Tavish is engaged in the forgery (I believe) what better
way to create a diversion than copy the behavior of a well known,
and easily copied, adversary?
Anyway, something for the conspiracy nuts to chew on for a while.

It's a big deal to me. The person involved, and my feelings toward him, are
secondary to a principle which is meant to protect all. I'm not going to figure
the ethical calculus in the matter every time the situation arises, adjusting
my belief based on my personal assessment of the likelihood of harmful
repercussions. That's a prescription for abandoning the principle altogether,
and that is a big deal.

The proper response to Bradbury is to expose his views in the forums in which
they are offered. If he crosses the line, as he has, Yale's legal approach is
an alternative. I hope his case is successful and that Bradbury pays a price

On Christmas Eve I had a traditional Polish Wigilia supper, complete with beetroot
soup, sauerkraut, roll mops, trout, etc. etc. I then spent two hours vomiting
violently and my Christmas dinner consisted of water biscuits and weak tea. C'est la
vie.

Lemonade shandy it is. It's been too many years now since I was last in
England. I, too, verge on being a teetotaler. With all the dogs we now
keep, travel is somewhat out of the question. With respect to TV, I
think the finest thing that medium has ever presented was BBC's "I,
Claudius". Nothing better, before or since.
