I recently had an encounter with a sloth. It ambled into this
multi-purpose building I have called The Studio. At first I thought it
was a rat and freaked out. Then my cat came in and tried to befriend
it. It opened its ugly snout and made a disgusting hissing noise. It was
the most disgustingly inert creature I have ever dealt with as well as
the ugliest. Of all creatures, I would think it would not want to mate
face-to-face.

jes, who now understands why sloth is one of the seven deadly sins.

Sloths, as a general rule, live in the deep tropics. Are you sure it wasn't
a possum?

Great sloth story, Jes.

Reminds me, though, of a gal I dated who had a prehensile tail. I'll
never forget the time...

I don't know about that, but I inherited this strange cookbook from my
Mom...one of the recipes in it is for Possum Pie. There are also some
recipes for squirrel and one for wild hickory nuts (shades of Ewell Gibbons!)

Because when they married it was a time where everything spelt r o m a n c
e, and their wedding ought to have been broadcast like any other
princess-prince wedding. The photo of Carly and James in the train window
leaving for their honeymoon is one of the prettiest I have seen.
Then after a couple of years, of course, life caught up with them as well
and the bubble burst.
But Carly and James remarrying? Hm. Probably when unicorns graze the hills.

Tina can stay, Ike can go. Afraid I don't know Delaney and Bonnie
Bramlett. Ditto for Richard and Linda Thompson (except the names sound
familiar). Rosanne can stay too, but I could care less about Rodney.
Grace and Paul should get back together. Sonny and Cher, dump both of
them.

sorry bobby, but Uli is right. It was Lobo. I'd Love You to Want Me went
all the way to #2 in the fall of 1972, when I had an enormous crush on a
boy named Steve who actually liked me back! Oh wow! Got it on the stereo
right now. I can still sing along, remember all the words... Aw Uli, it's
nothing to be ashamed of!

I Want You to Want Me was Cheap Trick, came out a bit later though, around
77, and wasn't actually a hit until the live version came out in 79. Hot
Rod Lincoln would be Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen, but Marty
says it was also a hit in the early 50s for Johnny Bond... Black Water was
Doobie Brothers, 75...

Dirty creature of habit,
little horror here to stay,
anyone in his right mind,
would tell it to go away, but
the river of dread runs deep,
full of unspeakable things
creature don't mess around,
i don't wanna mess with hiiiimmm.
i don't wanna sail, i don't wanna sail, i don't wanna sail toniiiiiiii
hiiiiite.
dirty creature's got me at a disadvantage from the inside

the plague of being in eighth grade
memorizing songs. yep if the song was played today,
i could recite it word for word.
haven't heard it in years.

She's also got tons and tons of rock'n'roll reference books... I don't
really have this much minutiae clogging up my brain, really, if I did,
there'd be no room at all for anything else... but then again, I really DO
