I'm assuming that the first telecast mentioned on a date is the primary game
that most of the country will see. Seems like more of the same old stuff we
used to get from NBC.

Of 26 games to be televised, 18 involve at least one team from LA, NY, Chicago
or Boston. Of the 14 primary telecasts, 13 involve at least one of the
above. If add the Bay Area, it goes to 23 out of 26 and 14 out of 14. Also,
in the 14 primary games, 21 of the 28 teams are from those 5 areas.

So of the 14 games we're likely to see here in Portland (we rarely get the
secondary game since we don't have a team) 9 of the 26 teams will make up
75% of the teams we see and 100% of the games will involve at least one of
them. We'll only get to see 14 teams all year on CBS.

Also, I can't believe they are going to totally ignore baseball during the
first two weeks of September, which is quite often a time for the best
pennant races to really heat up. I almost hope all four divisions are
settled by the time they get to their wild card games.

Thank goodness I get ESPN.
