Hello all,

This is to announce the existance of a new mailing list dedicated to
speculation about Discworld, the characters thereupon, and anything
related. Want to speculate on the gender of Vimes' offspring? Discuss
possible outcomes for plot lines that have featured in published books?
This is the place for it.

A short word about the history behind this: At CCDE, a group of afpers
was engaged in a heavy speculation regarding future Discworld events.
This was sparked off by Terry's remarks at the interview session. As
this is clearly stuff that isn't suited for afp nor abp, a mailing list
was deemed the best alternative.

We hope to create a list where discussion can take place without the fear
that this might in any way compromise Terry's creative work by
parallel evolution. In other words, anything posted to this list means
that, should Terry get the same idea simultaneously, earlier, or later,
you won't mind and keep quiet about it.

You can subscribe to the list at
http://library.lspace.org/mailman/listinfo/afp-speculation

The list will be moderated, and memberships will need to be confirmed by
the list owner. These restrictions have been put in place to avoid any
possible problems with Terry, and to keep the signal/noise ratio up.

The moderators reserve the right to refuse to post any message. Messages
that will not be posted include spam (unsolicited commercial email),
flames, test messages, misdirected messages, personal messages (that is,
those that were meant for some individual, never intended for the list),
and messages that are outside the scope of the list.
Messages sent from a valid subscribed address will always be informed
with regards to the reason of a refusal.

If you want any more information, please don't be afraid to contact us.

Regards,

Patrick Dersjant <pat...@lspace.org>

We came here to chant, for Christ's sake, not to proactively leverage our
synergies (well, actually we did come here to proactively leverage our
synergies, but that doesn't mean in liturgical Greek what it is purported
to mean in Marketroid...) - Patrick R. Wade, about Powerpoint in church
