Recent southeast Iowa hail storm keeps roofers busy

BURLINGTON - A hail storm in Burlington last month is keeping roofing
contractors busy with hundreds of calls to do inspections and estimate
damages.

Hail the size of softballs during a storm May 8th caused major roof
damage for several residents on the south side of the city.

Many homeowners have had to get a new roof or are having holes
patched. One roofing contractor says his company is already booked for
the rest of the year, and another says he's received more than 300
calls in the past few weeks.

Companies have had to bring in contractors from other states who
specialize in storm damage to act as worker reinforcements.
