The Addams Family Drinking Game

Take a drink every time:
The words “evil”, “curse”, “dark”, “death”, or “weird” are mentioned.
Wednesday has a really memorable line.
TWICE if she’s not adding to or answering someone else’s sentence.
THREE TIMES if she’s not directly insulting someone either.
An Addams family member survives something that should have killed them.
TWICE if it’s not Fester or Pubert.
An immediate Addams family member puts on a change of clothes.
TWICE if it’s not for a wedding or stage production.
Fester babbles to his “mother”. (First film)
Thing levitates for longer than believably possible.
Something (ie Thing, darts, daggers) moves at an extraordinarily fast
speed (one drink per scene, for a group of similar objects, one drink per
group).
Gomez makes a dramatic speech.
Someone speaks French (one drink per person per scene).
TWICE if it’s not Gomez or Morticia.
Cousin It says something incomprehensible.
TWICE if someone actually doesn’t seem to understand what he’s saying.
A potentially funny line goes by too fast for anyone to catch it.
An Addams family member looks at someone suspiciously.
TWICE if it’s not Wednesday.
Someone makes a really bad pun.
TWICE if it doesn’t involve Thing.
There’s a very noticeable sound effect thrown in. (One drink per scene
or, for a repeated sound, one per scene.)
TWICE if it actually fits in.
Gomez participates in a sport (i.e. fencing, golf, etc.)
Joel (Wednesday’s “boyfriend”) whines about something.
TWICE if it’s not his allergies.
Two people kiss.
TWICE if it’s not Gomez and Morticia.
Gomez refers to someone as “old man”.
TWICE if its not Thing.
Fester laughs.
Lurch growls.
Pubert giggles.
Thing shakes nervously.
Wednesday smiles.
Someone screams.
TWICE if it’s not directly related to one of the Addams family’s
tricks/appearance etc.
We see a sample of Grandmama’s cooking.
TWICE if it moves.
There’s a scene set in a graveyard
Lurch plays the harpsichord.
Gomez and Morticia discuss their love life.
Gradmama talks about or “casts” a spell.
An Addams family member fails to grasp the obvious.
TWICE if it’s not Fester.
Wednesday and Pugsley attempt to kill Pubert.
TWICE if Morticia and Gomez actually seem upset about it.
The counselors at camp jump up and down, clap, or move excessively.
Gomez does a nifty acrobatic flip.
Joan Cusack (Debbie) overacts wildly.
There’s a dance sequence.
TWICE if it’s not performed by the Addams clan.
One of the children plays with a deadly object.
TWICE if Gomez or Morticia actual react to it.
Game ends when the rap music at the end of the film(s) starts.

I see this game only covers the 2 films....
I wrote an Addams Family drinking game in Dec. 1992 and revised it in
March 1993 and again in May 1994. It covers the B/W TV series, both
films, both Animated Serieses, and the 1977 TV Movie.

(i.e. TV show, movies, TV movie, old and new animated series')
Have a sip of your drink when the following conditions are met...
ANY FORMAT
GOMEZ: Swordfights (TWO if it's with Morticia..THREE if it's a joust)
Kisses Morticia's arm or hand
Calls Morticia "Cara Mia" or "Carreida" or just "Cara"
Treats large amounts of money as small change
Gets excited by anyone speaking French (TWO if it's not Morticia)
Plays with his trains
MORTICIA: Creates "art" (TWO if it's not painting)
Calls a visitor "Nice" (i.e. "That nice Mr. Henson")
Cuts the flowers off of roses
TWO if she calls Gomez "Carreido" or "Bubala"
Sews a strange-looking garment
FESTER: Plays with explosives (TWO if he advises someone to do so)
WHOLE DRINK if he grows hair or wears anything that looks like it
<Fester as Gordon doesn't count>
Plugs anything into himself (TWO if it's a light bulb)
Invents anything (even if it doesn't work)
GRANNY: Cooks
Comes on to a man (WHOLE DRINK if the man takes interest)
Looks into a crystal ball
LURCH: Is called (WHOLE DRINK if it's not with the bell..<gets rough on the
episode "The Day Gomez Failed">)
says "You Rang"
says "Yes Mr. (or Mrs.) Addams"
says "Uhhhhhhh"
says "Follow me"
plays the harpsichord (or organ on movies and new cartoon)
THING: Is thanked
TWO if he appears without his box (except movies and new cartoon)
Makes a gesture
Gets the mail
WEDNESDAY & PUGSLEY: Play in life-threatening situations
(W) Plays with Homer the spider
COUSIN ITT: Talks in his fast voice (WHOLE DRINK if others besides the
Addamses understand him [except Magaret in the
films])
VISITORS: Run out of the Addams house
TWO if the visitor is a crook
THREE if it's a relative
Visitor solves the episode's problems
ANYONE: Talks about Granny's "beauty" or "talent"
WHOLE DRINK if anyone plays the harpsichord other than Lurch
<may get a tad rough on the TV movie>
Talks about other relatives (i.e. Cousin Clot, Uncle Blah, etc.)
Lies down on a nail bed
And now for more specific additions depending on format
TV SHOW (1964-66)
GOMEZ: Smokes
Loses money on the stock market
Stands on his head
MORTICIA: Feeds Cleopatra (the plant)
"Smokes"
FESTER: Wants to shoot someone
OLD ANIMATED SERIES (1973-75)
GOMEZ: Laughs in that way only voice-actor Len Weinrib can (i.e. "hoo hoo hoo
hooooo")
LURCH: Drives the RV
GRANNY: Cracks a mirror
THE RV: Breaks down
Has a moat around it
TV MOVIE (1977)
GOMEZ: Calls on his piccolo for Wednesday to free him
FESTER: Puts someone on the rack
WEDNESDAY: Hits the high note on her piccolo
LURCH: Has his pterodactyl net out
WEDNESDAY JR. & PUGSLEY JR.: Say *Anything*
PANCHO: Can't control his emotions or otherwise acts like Gomez
MOTHER FRUMP: Tries her broom-flying recipe
LADY FINGERS: Appears
MOVIE (1991)
GOMEZ: Talks about how long it's been since he last saw Fester or
otherwise brings up the past
FESTER: Teaches the kids about murder & destruction
ABAGAIL: Appears as Dr. Pinder-Schloss
Lays a guilt trip on "Gordon"
JUDGE: Yells "Damn you, Addams!"
NEW ANIMATED SERIES (1992-)
GOMEZ: Describes how much pain he is in (or will be in)
Does something overly dangerous (i.e. A dip in the molten lava)
FESTER: Has bugs crawling on his face
Pulls out anything from his trenchcoat (TWO if it comes from
off his body)
Hangs out with Norm
blows himself up
GRANNY: Has a call on her Psychic Hotline
WEDNESDAY: Speaks in Old English ("Friend Lurch" counts)
COUSIN ITT: Defeats enemy spies
NJ: is ashamed/embarrassed by his family
NORM: Shows his obsession with underwear or obsession is implied by others
(TWO if it's TOO MUCH!!! [i.e. Under-pops, Underwear mural, etc.])
NORM & NORMINA: Call each other cutesy names (i.e. "sugarlumps")
WHOLE DRINK if they do something macabre
THING: Wears clothing
EVERYONE: Does the Family Dance (WHOLE DRINK if visitors join in)
ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES (1993)
PUBERT: Narrowly escapes death
WEDNESDAY & PUGSLEY: Are sent to the "Harmony Hut"
Try to kill Pubert
DEBBIE: Tries to kill Fester
OTHER RULES....
Drink whenever the safe/vault is opened...TWO if it's by someone other than
Gomez.
WHOLE DRINK whenever Gomez calls a non-family member by his/her first name.
(only TWO sips if on the old animated series)
Drink whenever one episode shows conflict with another within format.
(i.e. Differences between say, TV Show and Movie don't count)
Drink whenever the theme music is played during the episode. (Beginning
and ending credits don't count except for the movie)
WHLOE DRINK if someone other than Gomez or Morticia uses the phrases 'Cara
Mia' or 'Mon Cher'
And most of all....Drink whenever you are thirsty.
