311 was decent...I like a lot of the music from their first album,
but most of the songs on Grassroots are rehashed and unoriginal..(I
really don't see them coming out with a 3rd, unless they can discover a
few more new ideas...) As far as the show, here all they did(besides
sing) was shuffle around the stage, occasionally saying catchy one-word
phrases such as "Funky," etc..(Oh, and the guy who bobbed
throughtout the show like one of those drinking birds was kind of
neat..) There weren't a whole lot of people watching, so they didn't
really get the crowd...

I agree...I've been reading the various comments on Boingo's new
style(Oh, and I like the idea that they are parodying today's music,
which after thinking about it I believe it's probably true, with the
addition of the idea that "Hey, we can parody them AND sell more
albums..." Hmm..) and, although some of the new stuff is good and worth
listening to, the main factor is that the new stuff just isn't
"Boingo-esque"(Is that how you say it? heh..) (That is, with the
exclusion of Insanity and Helpless, which isn't even on the (&^%# Cd..)
The new music is GOOD, but its not what we've come to expect from
Elfman. There are enough guitar bands out there...(Notice that the most
popular songs among fans are the ones that deviate from the "new" style?
The rest is fairly bland...) Anyway..

No, I would like to, also. However, more than "Cry..." I would like
to hear "Violent Love." Love that song! For the longest time the only
version I had of it was on the EP(I still like that version better than
the Boingo Alive cut,) and it kept the record player on top of the stereo..
Offhand, does anyone have a copy of the ORIGINAL Violent Love(I believe
it was a barbershop quartet kind of song?)
